The middle pairs out of position in these types of games always bother me. Would you have bet the flop here with two overcards, and if so how much? Feel free to critique...

Being the first in, was I wrong to bet the flop with two overcards? How about checking the turn after he called the 400 flop bet? -
With mid-pair like you have there I would've probably just called preflop and hope for a set unless everyone was playing very tight and you could take the blinds. The blinds here aren't too high yet and you can still be somewhat conservative. With 6 players still left, your odds of running into a hand are greater than even 5 players. With 5 players, the raise would be a better move to take the blinds with since everyone will be tightning up even more and the blinds are likely to be larger. With two overcards I would be very hesitant to bet, unless your opponent is a rock. If you get reraised or called down how much do you know about your opponent's hand compared to yours. You know your either beat or a small favorite to his drawing hand. Not worth it to risk a lot of chipsat this point in the SNG. Hope this helps, I find myself having difficulties with midpairs in SNG's as well. Good luck.

yeah your preflop raise was too much too.
Althought I can't understand how AQ can call a bet like that on the flop, AT or AJ has him crushed, and AK or a PP is still way ahead. -
I disagree with whoever said the preflop raise was too much...it's between 3 and 4x the blind...seems perfectly fine. I think you have to take a shot and bet out again on the turn. Your flop bet was a little weak, but he shouldn't have been calling you with just ace high either.
Betting with the overcards out there is fine if you think you have the best of it or if youre thinking you can get him to fold. -
this hand is rediculously standard, cont bet didn't work so you shut down, fine as played

I don't like raising more than 3x the BB in a sng as an opening bet, because it generally doesn't acutally discourage anyone. All it generaly does is build a bigger pot which then requires a bigger c-bet and can emotionally/mathmatically commit your opponent to the pot.
obviously if you have QQ and 3 limpers infront of you, making it 5x the BB isn't a bad idea at all.
