Ok so more and more I notice players in the chat box trying to humilate their opponents after losing a pot to them telling them how bad they play, looking up their stats and putting them in chat, etc. etc.
Anyone doing this.. STOP ASSHOLES. I look on OPR today and see they are asking (again) to not use the stats to embarass opponents in the chat.
If they are playing bad then let them play bad. Keep your comments to yourself. If you think you're good then keep playing them. DONT DISCOURAGE BAD PLAYERS TO STOP PLAYING YOU DOUCHEBAGS. -

ive never bought the berating people is going to make them stop playing argument and therefore u shouldnt do it as ur hurting ur customer base. the real reason you shouldnt do it is becuz if your berating people at a poker table then your not having a good time and your prolly just an angry person and well theres no point in trying to reason with someone then

First, I agree with OP....i've made that clear in many similar threads over the years...
Second, people should stop thinking in terms of "This is going to make me less money" and think more about "Is this the kind of person I want to be?" It's not all about how much money you can make off these people. You might just not want to be the kind of shmuck that says those kinds of things to random people you don't know. -

a fish who sucks a guy out is going to be happy cause he won. a true fish won't think much more than that and will probably get a litlte satisfaction about a guy berating him at the tables. -

there's a difference between telling someone they are dumb and posting their stats in the chat box.
i don't think it's a great idea to do either, but posting their stats is a terrible idea and i think it might even be against the pokerstars tos. most players that i see doing this are terrible themselves.
just type 'nh' or 'gg' (i like to use 'lol' sometimes too) and move on. what's the point in doing anything more? -
Ego creates this type of chat-box situation. It is an attempt by an individual that is feeling stressed or threatened to create more pain and deflect these feelings onto others. Ego is the biggest fail in most people's game, not to mention life in general.
Just browse through P5's, all conflict is ego-based, it's pretty funny if you sit back and watch it unfold in various threads. And yes, I have done this in the past...but trying to do better. -

A guy yesterday started with the quoting of stats and then proceeded to tell a losing player that he should quit poker altogether. Just so stupid and probably the type of player that should be reported so his chat gets banned.

i wrote the clueless players name on a post it and placed it on my pc. For several months, every time I would log into this site I would look for him. I do believe that this "fish" was chased away.
With all the exposure that poker gets these days, there are literally thousands of new players every day that don't know what they are doing. How can berating these players be +ev? What gets me is when good players do this. Players that can tell you to the percentage point what the ev is on a particular play have no problem chasing or educating bad players.
For this reason and others I have never and will never criticize another player.
