So Minted poker won't make my deposit go through in time to play the p5s freeroll yet I cancel my deposit and it doesn't get canceled. I login and what do you know...my deposit is now in my account and the transaction went through...even after I went through their process to cancel the transaction. Such bs.
-
kman same thing with me I told the to cancel mine to and got it today 48 hours after my first deposit. They told me no one is in the office on sundays! Thats why we didnt get it in time....But finished 9th for $120 minus my stake and the few that play .50/$1 are terrible on that site

oh so they did actually refund your deposit?
nice job on the 9th btw. the players do seem weak, but i don't want to give money to a company whose business practices are questionable. when i go to cancel deposit i have pending, it should be canceled...otherwise why even have that as an option? -
ty bud. They didnt refund my deposit.I told them to cancel it and they didnt..I got staked
-
I agree, this site is not worth the trouble.
I made my deposit with click2pay only to find out afterwards that I can't withdraw with the same method. The only method available for me to withdraw my money is PICClub, which I would never put my money there. I haven't emailed yet requesting a check, but they can't possibly think this is a good deal for anyone.
Sorry Adam, great job on the website, but I'm not going to listen to your endorsements anymore. -
I'll keep everybody posted on whether I get my deposit refunded. Supposedly it was a bank holiday for Minted Poker's operations department yesterday...
-
Unfortunately......the top tier pokersites are im sure making way too much money to bother doing any kind of giveaways anymore. Notice the P5s Open is even on a random poker site this year. But this is how P5s is able to offer such good "freebies". Sometimes beggars cant' be choosers and if you want the free loot ur gonna have to deal with 3rd tier poker site BS.
-
power poker isn't really a random site--it's part of the Cake Network, using the same cashier and everything that Cake uses. It's simply a skin of Cake.

That said, what you say about FTP and stars is definitely true. They're not throwing much money at the community for promotions these days, because apparently they don't have to... It's unfortunate, but we don't really get much out of them anymore.
Regarding the endorsement, I definitely appreciate your point of view limo. I think it's a little harsh, but I take it to heart nonetheless. In our defense though, someone asked about withdrawal methods (which are all listed on the Minted Poker website), and I responded with what I knew about them. I believe bank wire is an option too, even though it's not listed on the site. Nobody was misled about what their deposit and withdrawal options are by anyone from P5s, certainly not by me. They don't have nearly as many options as some of the bigger sites, but we did not claim that they did either.
I would recommend in any case to find out some info about any site you're thinking about playing on before playing there, especially if there are particular issues that are important to you. If it's a site we're having a promotion on, you're always welcome to ask any questions you have about it here in the forums and we will answer them or get a representative of that site to come on and answer them personally.
I'm sorry you weren't happy with the site we had this promotion on, and I do appreciate your feedback on it as well. I'll try to get a Minted representative in here to answer this thread as well. -
Probably a stupid question, but why didn't you just have it on Cake?

Hi Everyone,
Let me introduce myself as Neil from mintedpoker. I am the one responsible for arranging the $4,000 freeroll with Adam.
Overall this promotion went very well, but as always there will be the few unfortunate situations that arise which lead to players being left unhappy. Regarding credit card deposits from the USA a manual authorisation is required and this is why there is often a delay of up to 24 hours. We can't always be sure that the processor we use is available to carry out the manual authorisation.
I am currently looking into why players who requested their deposits to be cancelled we not done and as soon as I have answers I shall let you all know.
Bottom line is I dont like to leave players with a bitter taste in their mouths and I take this kind of criticism personally so ...................
My email address is neil@mintedpoker.com and those players which tried to deposit, WE took to long to process which resulted in you missing our Freeroll should email me and I will have $50 put in your account.
Neil -
idk guys my deposit went rite throu in ten min, hav had zero prob so far, and finnaly got my 75 buks for the freeroll but it was under the 48 hrs they said so fwiw id recomend the site its jus small but the tournys r easy and the cash games r fishy because i play them lol fwiw.
-
Thanks Neil. It's nice to have someone affiliated with this site to come in here and explain.

Basically correct. power poker is chipping in part of the prizes for this event. We really cannot afford to put up $10,000 in prizes on our own for a tournament like this. It was very important to us to have this tournament on a site where we knew US players and Non-US players alike would be comfortable playing and using their banking. Since Power Poker is simply a skin of Cake which shares the Cake cashier, we felt (and still feel) that this was the case with them.
Aside from name-recognition of the skin itself, it's really hard for me to see why people would be unhappy about having the event there. Bottom line is that we're throwing in $10,000 in added prizes and having a huge community building event on a highly trusted network that thousands of P5ers play on. If it means the small inconvenience of registering an account there, players can decide for themselves whether it's worth it.
EDIT: Please let's continue any discussion about the P5s Open in threads related to the P5s Open. I don't want to completely hijack this thread. -
So what about us guys that did play the tourney and only cashed for $25 and got shafted because someone sit-out the whole game and they finished with $50.

If I had sat-out i'd got $50 or if i'd had trouble getting money on the site i'd got $50 but because none of that happened and I actually played the game I get $25. hmmmmmmm interesting. -
This is also what they told me - that it was a bank holiday. On the other hand, with my pending deposit having a cancellation request put on it by me within 6 hours after I requested it, I'm very surprised that it went through anyway.

That's awesome that the site is willing to give $50 to you folks who weren't able to play in it, but I'm happy I got staked and am walking away with $160 minus stake cut. Been a good two days for me too - shipped a $13 turbo 90 person KO yesterday with about 15 KO's. (Finally I get to throw a small brag in for us low rollers.)
I'll definitely be checking out the cash games though, especially if they are like everyone is saying they are. Guess I'll have to watch out for those of you who are saying they are soft though. :)
On another note, their online live support is very quick and responsive. +1 for their support so far. -
How is it their fault that you couldn't place higher in a tournament that someone who didn't play a hand? The people who couldn't register due to tech difficulties never got a chance to play, therefore never had a shot at a prize. Seems completely fair.

I've played on sites where after a certain amount of time or one/two orbits (in freerolls) the sit-outs are removed from the table/tournament to be fair on the people actually playing, obviously you cant just randomly remove people from a tourney but if from the start they haven't actually sat in on any hand then they were not that bothered about the tourney in the first place and in this case they get rewarded with money.
And yeah they could say they forgot about the tourney, but that holds no water as it was a p5's promotion and a reminder was posted within a good amount of time. -
just awful since i wasn't even using my money but the $50 compensation that neil sent...
I am contacting you with regards to your card deposit.
I would like to sincerely apologize for the delay that was imposed on crediting your funds which was due to certain system updates.
Your cancellation request was not honored since at the time you were already using the funds at the tables.
I trust everything is in order and i asure you that no further inconvenience will be imposed on your incoming transactions. -

You're right Adam, I should have thoroughly checked out the site before I made my deposit. My fault. I was a bit frustrated when I wrote that, and yes they will do bank wire transfer.
I'm still upset that they allow me to deposit with click2pay and not withdraw with the same method, but I suppose that is between me and minted poker.
Let my mistake be a warning to everyone else, check out the site before you deposit.
