  1. If anyone has encoutered this before me...

Do all or only some providers work with poker sites? (chiefly pokerstars).

Would pay as you go be sufficient if only used as a backup? - Im not really sure how much data usage 30 tabling takes up, but it would be for rare connection drops from my home connection.
  2. I play use the 3 network, i pay £15 a month for 15Gb on contract and it does very well, ive never had a problem with it allowing access to any poker site when its on my computer but for some reason i couldn't download the installer program for 888 (pacific poker), was fine once i used a different connection to install it though.

main thing to remember is to check every network for the best coverage before you get it as some work better than others in certain areas.

ive used the O2 version as well and that was very good.

If you use vodafone you will need to get the extreme content lock taken off, this can be done by going into you local voda shop thou because it stops access to gambling sites.
  3. As above, I use Orange mobile broadband and haven't had any problems (occasionally slow if weather is dreadful, but rare).

Useage wise, just playing poker does not use masses of bandwidth so multi-tabling is fine but beware of too much 'surfing' at the same time as this will bump it considerably.

If it helps, I used 324hrs of mobile broadband in september - approx 8hrs multi-tabling per day and surfing - and I used 13gb.

    Cheers,

    Jason
  4. If your only using it for poker and not your primary connection 5 GB will be more than enough. I too use 3 and they did a four day money back deal so you could take it home and check signal strength. There is also a signal booster on the market now if you have connection problems.

You shouldn't have a problem with providers and poker sites I use cake, ps, ftp and party which all work fine.

You will get a better deal if they lock you into a contract for a year or 18 months but if its just for back up I would shop around.

if you get a HUAWEI E160 broadband dongle which I got with the 3 network and also avaliable on the O2 network it has a connection to add a antenna, i brought this off ebay and has boosted the signal and is 100% better now than without it.
