from the t&c:
Before the start of the tournament, Full Tilt Poker will deposit funds sufficient to cover your tournament entry into your Full Tilt Poker player account. Please note, you are responsible for buying your seat at this event.
WTF?
So we not only have to arrange our own travel and accomodation we have to buy ourselves in once we get there ? Assuming they put the money in our accounts early enough to cash it out in time... -
WSOP is the same way due to recent events

Yes, but as far as I know UIGEA doesn't apply in Russia. So why aren't they doing third-party buy-ins?
-
I'm from Russia and I haven't been there in a while, so I'd be happy to go play. Do you have a link to details. Also, a year ago they passed a law, that will require all Moscow casino to move outside of the city, to designated zones, I wonder if that will affect the tourney

Poker tournaments were ruled a sport by the Russian athletic federation, on a par with chess, a few months ago so it appears to be legal.

Good catch Spanky, that's a mistake.
Copy and paste from a WSOP page FTW... -
molotok,
Here is the promotion page: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/moscow-millions
The tournament is in October, it has a buy-in of around $10,000 USD, and it is supposed to be televised. We are sending at least 15-20 online qualifiers, and some Full Tilt Pros will attend as well, so there should be some fun events/dinners in Moscow alongside the event as well.
You can win a seat through a $300+$22 Qualifier every Saturday at 13:00 EST, and the minimum age is 18. -
Excellent! The hassles involved with buying in myself dampened my enthusiasm (and pretty much ensured my american friends wouldn't play), but i'll play a few of these sats now. Thanks doug.

Also that rule doesn't go into effect till 2009 anyway.
