    So we all heard stories on how some people like to shower, shave, eat healthy before a a grind session.

    I don't have anything crazy except this last Wednesday I was completely trashed and almost decided not to play the Borgata 15K guaranteed. Fortunately my gf told me to play anyway and I somehow managed to chop it 3 ways even tho the first 2 hours I could barely see my cards.

    In terms of fortunate, I managed to ship my first four figure score when I had half a blind left after getting 2 outted on like in the first 15 minutes of a tourney.

    I'm sure there 5x more funnier/crazier stories out there so let's hear them!

    Once registered for a full sunday of mtts and steps in san remo before the internet went out. Ran around italy with timex and sirwatts looking for somewhere with internet and eventually wound up buying a room for the night at some rando hotel just so they would let us use their wireless in the lobby. When i got back online i had like 1k chips left in a monte carlo step 6 which i then came back and won for an 18k package.

    I didn't win it, but I FT'ed a tournament in 2006 or so during a severe thunderstorm, with no power in the house. My office still had a dial-up number available, so I call in with a modem for Internet access. I played for the last two hours on battery on the laptop, and busted just before the computer died anyway.

    Power went out on my street at like 3am deep in 24+2 on full tilt...called a friend and woke him up and told him im coming over...got out of my car and all in on his front porch with AJ vs QQ bvb...spiked ace, finished off in his basement at 6am ftw...heard a rooster when i walked out the door, knew it was early in a strange part of town...

    I ship the 10k 50 buyin on absolute in 2008 while hovering over a toilet and laying on the ground screaming in between my hands... didnt drink or anything that day. I won all my flips played it very aggressive with the good hands because I didnt care if I won or lost it just hurt so bad. I ended up winning a huge pot with 12 left so when I got to the ft I could muscle a little bit. Amazing how people will lay down when the big money is up. Anyways I won 3k and 15 min later my pain went away, money does speak but wow it hurt.

    Lost CL pot with 14left in the eighty grand AK<A8 river 8, had 1bb left utg..

    had 2/3 of the chips in play with 3 left, finished 3rd....

    After the rebuy period of a $30r on full tilt I 3bet QK and got two calls. The flop was TJA and I c-bet fairly strong. I was check raised all in, but my internet cut out before I could call. I went on to take 2nd place anyway for 10K and my biggest score.

    was playing the $5rebuy on stars, busted every other tournament at the time and this was the only one left. My gf needed a ride to a work xmas party so I sat out and took her. Got stuck in Santa Monica rush hour traffic, took over an hour and a half to get home. I had 7bbs when I got back w/ about 400 left. SHIP!

    About 3 years ago in a 24+2 I was heads up with a slight chip lead. We got it in pf and I lost the coin flip. He says gg which it was at the time but I had just over 1bb. I become a card rack and keep doubling up and end up shipping tourney. Was so sweet since the guys was a total dick the whole final table

    Like 5 years ago I was a pathetic 100nl grinder who happened to play a satty into the Prima 100k. Somehow I got down to the final 5, top 4 got $110 entries and #5 was like $96...I tried to bust out 5th to take the money but failed. So couple days later I manage to take down the $25k 1st prize despite not knowing anything about tourney strategy. I then parlayed that win into about 3 months of highly successful set mining on party 1000nl. It all turned south though after I Mavened off most of it on bullshit and just recently finished paying off the gigantic tax bill that resulted.

    finished 2nd in the 10k bounty on cake while flying from DC to San Francisco. I lost my connection when we had to land and had to sit out the final table bubble.. when the plane landed my connection came back just in time for me to call a shove with KK and double up.. I had to run around SFO asking everyone where I could find some internet.. after running around for 10 minutes scaring the shit out of people, I found the SFO verizon workstation where you can pay for a 24hr internet pass, logged on with 8 left and got coolered heads up..

    In chip terms, I came back from 0.5BBs with 40 or so players left to win a MTT on party 2 weeks ago.

    In terms of circumstances, a few years ago my g/f and I were going on holiday and she had gone a couple of days earlier than me to meet friends. During the break of an MTT, I remember she had asked my to unjam a window which had been painted over. Whilst trying to accomplish this, the screwdriver I was chipping away the paint with slipped in my hand and I accidentally stabbed myself in the neck. I played out the tourny one handed lying flat on the couch clutching a blood-stained towel to my neck. I finished 4th.

    Next day I turned up at the airport with blood still on my neck and I got an upgrade!

    My very first tournament on pokerstars was an $11 satellite to the Sunday Million, (despite my only $50 deposit,) and I shipped it for the $220 buy-in. Had no clue back then that I could unregister for tournament dollars, so played the big one the next day. Took 18th for ~6k, (when KK < AA.) Tournament felt oddly 'meant to be,' as I flopped quad 8s twice during the one tourney, and got paid off each time for huge pots. (Meh... years later it's still my biggest score.)

    i was literally the last person to lateregister 25 minutes into an FTOPS friday trny in november. it was the one i wanted to play that day ( started at 11am my time ) so when i realized i may be too late i instawokeup and climbed over the young lady who was in my bed and got in and played the first hand while she was still asleep. she got the FO before first break and long story short i chopped for 85k. There has been no woman in my bed ever since and ive been losing ever since. lol @ poker + my life

    I play at coffee shops on my laptop often to avoid distractions. I was at a Starbucks when they were closing shop at 10 pm right on the ft bubble of the $26 35k gtd on tilt. I headed to my car and moved it to closer spot to the Starbucks and the internet connection. Ended up parking in a handicap spot that was close to the store and then a cop who was a real dick came up and started taking photos of my license plate and parking job etc. I was like what are you doing? I'll just move my car if it's a big deal, since the lot was empty, but he wasn't having any of it. Ended up writing me a $300 dollar ticket and said some real douchey statement at the end cause he knew I was playing poker like "That's one expensive poker game" or something like that. I ended up getting 4th losing KK to A8 for like 3k.
