    3000 attempts is alot....

    Annette I think was saying she had never made a final table in her 3 year career, then like that same weekend she won the FTP major for like 120k or something ridic...

    I really hope you guys are joking right. I mean ive taken second in 1 mtt of like 280 and im feeling due to make another one. Your telling me this might take another 1000 to get there again? Theres gotta be alot of players out there making final tables at a muich better frequency than that. Our is that a frequency for a avg player or something?

    MAJOR would be the keyword for this thread id say, i have 94 FTs out of 1100 MTTs on FTP and 26 FT out of 399 MTTs on PS, but yet no Major FT

    Alex,

    If you are talking about your total number of tournaments played, with your Major tournies being mixed in, then this would be fine, as you probably play 20 times more regular tournies than "majors." Without factoring in skill level, if a major has 5000 entrants, then you would final table it 1 in 500 tries.

    you cant look at it that way.... i doubt u have entered 3000 "major" mtts.... u gotta look at the # of tourneys u consider major that u havent ft'ed

    A)Almost for sure just variance. Even players with very high expectations in majors are likely to go on long cold streaks.
    B) You can easily improve your expectation by reducing the number of tables you're playing at once. (In mid Sunday thats gonna be a very large amount i assume, and theres a reasonable chance thats effecting your going deep rate)

    You do run good in the micro buyins, I'm pretty envious. I take shots at those tourneys all the time with very little success.

    No bbbb, those count as majors. Even counting those, I have yet to make a major final table and Im well over 2500 played...and I play all those cursed tournies every week. :(

    Well then does the ub 200k count? or the ap 150k and if those count do the 1ks count on ap,ftp,stars or does the wed 150k count?

    here is what i think counts...

    stars mil, ftp 750k, wcoop event, ftops event, and im torn on ub 200k, but fuck it, we can count that too. just my opinion.

    If those are the ones that count I dont think the ub 200k can count because theres a ton of mtts on the weekdays that have much larger prize pools.

    I'm just about at 3000, and i've only been playing for the past 6 months....and my best finish is still 11th in the 750k....
    I'm taking this week off to reevaluate life/clear my head from all the 80/20's and 71/29's that bounced me during the FTOPS. This is a brutal, brutal game...as all of you know all too well.

    Oh yes, we all know. I haven't gotten over Arron Kanter bad beating me A YEAR AGO in FTOPS III or whatever, i finished 15th for 4k he won for 95k, 88<77 :(
