So this has been happening more and more lately. Say blinds are 150-300 and its folded to the guy in mid pos. who just shoves like 15,000. I usually just don't give a shit and fold but I've been wondering.
A. WTF is this guy thinking?
B. What kind of hand does he have.
Sometime this type of player just seems to randomly push from any position once in a while. Like they do it once or twice per level. And when the blinds to stack ratio makes it idiotic to push or call with anything but AA.
Thoughts?

What level buyin are you talking about?
I played with a guy like that yesterday. he felt its his job as big stack to move on the low stack in sb and bb no matter what he has. After this dude tripled up the same low stack eventually (not in consecutive hands) i told him "maybe it would be a good idea to have some cards next time on that guy lol"
. the low stack ended up winning the table and i got 2nd but i got to knock out that former big stack. if he hadnt given that dude most of his chips i am sure i wouldve won though.
i see that happen pretty often actually but there are some guys who do it pretty well. I am not him. lol. -
Well he can either be an aboslute moron, which is highly probable. But it all depends if his move in justified. If he has a gigantic stack compared to the table and can easily just move in on pots and take the blinds why not? Think about this either he's going to get everyone to fold or he'll probably get one caller. Now if he has a large stack, respecitively say for example 4:1 on the caller. Now even is his hand is less than optimal say 3:1 dog he can still win by a suckout with his huge chip advantage. So eventually it becomes positive EV play.

Sounds to me like copies of Blair Rodman & Lee Nelson's "Kill Phil" book have been selling quite well. Good for those guys. Bad for better poker players, as it's tough to play against someone who is following the book's strategy accurately.
The problem I've been seeing is that a lot of people are pretty lazy with it and make it too obvious that they're playing Kill Phil style. If you have a little bit of heart and a little bit of gamble, it's not tough to wait and pick them off with something lower than AA. Depending on the guy, I've been very comfortable recently going down to AQ+, 99+ when calling, especially if I've been able to build up some chips.
