I have a question about mtt's, I usually start out playing kind of loose when the blinds are small and this seems to work well. I think most players view me as loose but I play tight after the flop either I have a big hand or I fold not chasing much if the odds are not good. I make chasers pay to see cards with my big hands, and try to flop big hands with connectors.
This seems to work I can usually get a stack of 7k to 10k. But nothing else really happens from there the blinds go up I tighten up and either loose in 2 or 3 bad hands or get blinded out and just make a move.
I need to figure out how to keep moving up, I am not sure if this makes sense to anyone but it is frustrating to always make it 2 to 3 hours and than just get my buy in back.
If it matters I play the micro tourneys on poker stars usually a lot of players majority of them have no clue it's amazing how fast the players go out. -
You should play tight early bro, and then loosen up as the blinds increase. Be super patient and try to play really stong hands really aggressively, and in good position (closer to blinds). And if you do get lucky enough to have a big stack wield it like a mace upon the whole poker race.

Sounds like you play an opposite style than what is considered "good" tournament play. Usually, in the early stages of the tournament, you want to play very tight, and play good starting hands very aggresively to take advantage of players who are playing like you describe. As the blinds increase, so should your activity. Most over-active players find it very difficult to run deeply on the regular, and it sounds like you are experiencing this problem.
If you feel like you just can't change your style, at least stick to playing loosely in position, so you're not totally bending yourself over.
But honestly, I think you have to be a REDICULOUSLY good poker player with uncanny reading ability to play early stages your way and be a successful tournament player.
