MTT hand strategy steal or not to steal?

    OK. I'm trying to improve my MTT online tourney strategy...

    Quick scenario:

    I got 4600 in chips and blinds have just increased to (400/800 with 25 ante)

    Cards folded to me and I'm 1 off button and I got Q9 off. Since no action
    prior, I decide I need the 1450 chips in pot and good time to steal while I
    still have some fold equity with my stack. I push and get called by SB.

    SB has JJ and I don't buy so I'm out.

    My question is simple. Based on my scenario. Is my play best?

    Appreciate all input.

    unlucky u ran into the JJ there while its not a bad play since it was folded to you. MTT's alotta times you just have to be real patient and i know thats hard when u get the potential to steal which stealing is obviously a necessity to survive. I am more of grinder so i figure som1 elses advice might suit u better, but what u did wasnt bad play but i tend to just wait and hopefully a bigger hand comes.
