Ok this hand happend early in a 10 mini on UB i limped in EP trying to trap, sum1 min bet so i re raise and then he come back over the top of me, im starting to suspect aces or kings, so i just call then the flop completly misses me, i stick out a lil feeler bet an he pushes all in, i fold but i was thinking would aces of pushed all in on flop, so i thought perhaps he could be over playeing ace king or pocket 10s.
Id like all opinons onhow i played it.

Betting 200 into a 700 pot isn't going to help you on the flop. Thats just bleeding chips. Check/fold or go to the felt on the flop here.
Pre flop i never limp/raise with JJ. Getting reraised after your limp/raise is a huge sign of strength. Fold at that point, your JJ is almost certainly behind. Even if you get a nice low flop like 24T, you are out of position and won't be able to get away from your hand even if it's 2nd best. You aren't going to stack someone with an unimproved AK on the flop...So your call of his reraise pre flop is just another dontation imo. -
Well, you're out of position and min raising a min bet...never a good idea. And you're trying to trap someone with JJ in EP...also never a good idea in this situation. But you lucked out getting it heads-up. My advice - Should have reraised him more (210-240) to see where your j's were. The blinds are small so, if you did that the rest would've been easy. He pushes here, you can fold, since limping in EP and raising a bet shows a lot of strength. It takes a better hand to come over the top there. If he just cold calls and you bet pot on the flop then he pushes, you can easily get away with still around 1k in chips to work with.

in my defence i didnt mean to min rasie meant to bet 250, mouse sliped, an looking back on it i shouldnt of trapped wid jacks an i probs shoulda folded preflop i mean he played his hand just like aces. and on the flop i bet small cause it wasnt a cbet ofa bluff just wanted to see were i was at. thanks for the reply guys

No offense meant, but I think you played this hand poorly. You limped (mistake 1), you made a weak re-raise (mistake 2), you called for 435 preflop and lead out with a bet of 200 which is less than half of what went in preflop (mistake 3 and a big sign of weakness).
Don't try to trap with jacks at a full table. Also, this guy re-raised your limp-reraise...I think it's time to let the hand go after that or push...leaning more towards a fold though. His raise is too inviting IMO. He could be overplaying AK possibly, but you're better off avoiding situations such as this. The decisions become more difficult than they should be. -
yeah your right, thanks for your comment, mayber next time i can avoid another situation like this, by not trappig wid jacks lol
-
Like others have said, JJ is a relatively strong hand, but not strong enough to trap with. Limping induces way too many opponents to play along with you, which is not what you want. This sort of hand requires as few opponents as possible; even just taking down the blinds (although not as exciting as hitting a HUGE flop with multiple opponents) is a solid result.
im starting to suspect aces or kings, so i just call then the flop completly misses me, i stick out a lil feeler bet an he pushes all in, i fold but i was thinking would aces of pushed all in on flop, so i thought perhaps he could be over playeing ace king or pocket 10s.
few notes on this analysis
a) How do you change your range from AA/KK to AK/TT with virtually no information? The all-in reraise isn't that suspect; its only a 5x reraise and its less than the size of the total pot at that point.
b) You've shown interest in this pot, so he can't really (in my opinion) be overplaying TT or AK because he has to assume that there's a very good chance that he's going to get called, and any hand that calls him is, 99% of the time, going to be better than TT or AK.
i'd guess that, at worst, this guy has AQ (but that doesn't make much sense given the preflop action), and most likely has one of the big pairs. -
VNH sir
