    Hi i have been playing on line now for not yet 2 years
    The first year i lost about 8k on the net (didnt mind )and i figured it takes losing to learn the game.
    this year im still negative but not nearly as badly.I have came close to winning big in some MTT but can never seem to get into big profit and after takink 19th in the double deuce (my best result after taking a satalite entry i sort of resigned myself to "thats as good as i can do ".As it has taken me nearly 2 years to get that result i dont think i can wait another 2 years for another (or will they get more regular now that i am improving )???? I dont know im a bit lost and could do with some advice or some chat as i dont really talk to many poker players and get no support from my family for playing.Please look up my stats and and feel free to comment any thoughts are welcome.

    If your not a winning player you should be playing micros. You need to find a game you can beat consistently and keep playing it. The first goal you should have is to grind 100 into 1000. Along the way take some money out and reward yourself. Join a training site. Follow bankroll management and move up or down as required. One of the easiest games to beat is the satellites to the stars 100k...Id start there and at least play it till I had doubled my initial 100. Good Luck

    i play at full tilt and play the micro buyins
    and once took my roll from zero to $185 in a few days but then i went up a couple of bux on buy ins and couldnt win a hand till it was all gone

    When I decide to move up I either start to blend in the higher buyin with my regular play or dedicate maybe 10 buyins to the higher level and if I lose that then I drop back down until I recoup then try again...also I tend to take my higher buyin shots on the weekend when there are more recreational players

    I agree with the 100 to 1000 challenge. It's a good challenge for yourself and will teach you the discipline necessary to succeed. If you play at FTP hit the 6man turbo sngs. If you have 100 I'd grind to 120+ in the $2. You'll then have 20 buyins for the $6 and grind that to 240. This should take less than a week. Keep climbing....$11, $22, etc.

    I like to have 20 buyins for any sng level. Some will say more which never hurts but if you are a winning player, 20 is plenty. Stay disciplined and move down levels if you hit a bad patch.

    What I do to reward myself during the process, is treat myself to a stab in a higher sng. If I'm at the $6 and doing well, I'll take a shot at an $11 or maybe a $22. If I'm at the $11 maybe I'll do a $33 or even a $50. Just depends on how well I'm doing and how much of my gains I'm willing to risk to boost my bankroll.

    Bottomline....discipline is key. Pick a goal and format and stick with it. GL
