I really think i fked up. I had a chance to run deep in this tourn; i was in the bb, the other player in the sb. He had been playing tight/passive for most of the tourn, but in the past few obits, he had begun to open his game. Please review the hand, as i am hating life today over it. I am confused as to if i did the right thing, or if i should have gotten away from the hand. Right now, i am thinking i should have folded, since i didnt full up, and he was showing me he was mega strong/or a full bluff. I still would have had a workable stack if i folded:

I'd probably have let it go on the flop. You didn't have a heart or an ace, so why mess around there? At best, you're barely ahead. Plus, you avoid falling into the sort of trap you fell into.
There's no way you could have anticipated that guy limping with AA. -
Thanks, Allin,
You know, im either a total moron, or was totally caught up in the blinds vs. blinds thing.
In the back of my head, im thinking, he's in the small blind, no way can he have a hand :)
yeah right.
I totally discounted the hearts, to be honest, my mind would not even let me figure them into the equation. I didnt think he would limp with aa or ak, but i should have figured him for the case k with a better kicker, or worse, k with one of the two other random cards (again, sb) and he filled up, i didnt.
I definitely should have let it go. Maybe one of these days, i will learn :)
Thanks again. -
I'm with allen here. Also one other point I hate just checking when there is no action and small blind limps. Why not raise pre if your going to see the flop. Most of the time you take down the pot. Pretty sure most people that are limping there ace's there are going to reraise your bet. Then you just let your hand go there and save a ton of money. I guess it is possible he flats your bet, but then again you can get away on the flop. So I would have raised pre folded to reraise and got away from the flop

Thanks, good advice there. I should have raised his limp, especially since for most of our playing time together, he was rather passive. He definitely would have folded a marginal hand, most prob re-raised a monster, at which time i would have tossed my k-x suited junk. Don't think he would have flatted tha aces, so i would have been safe.
Thanks again :) -
I know what you mean. I've fallen into that trap plenty of times myself, and once that K hits on the turn you're trapped. Doesn't matter that he could have a better king, or a flush... and on the river, I can still disregard that straight, because obviously he's just bluffing with a busted flush draw and third pair.

I've gotten caught up in those fights myself plenty of times, I'm just getting to where I treat a SB v BB hand with the same respect as a regular hand, and let my marginal holdings go.
Good luck, glad we could offer some support! -
I wouldn't worry about it too much man. You only had ~25 blinds, so I wouldn't sweat.

i dont like raising pre really unless you just ship it, cause chances are hes never calling..if you raise and he flats it just puts you in an awkward spot..i like the check behind.. i hate betting the flop though, i almost always check behind..you are either way ahead or way behind and you could easiley get checked raised with the q of hearts or another heart and you have to fold the best hand.. so i check behind for pot control..as played i probably go broke..
