    gank does own, i agree with what he said....i'm by no means a JJ hater, he's always been one of my fav. players, but that story is so hilariously false. the thing is, i don't seem to have as much issue with what JJ did than i do with the scores of people lining up to tell others that it's ok and to tell those who think it's wrong to "fuck off"...i mean are these guys for real. anyway, i'm glad that a 'big name' finally posted on how this is not kosher.

    NO GBMANTIS, NEVER IN MY WHOLE LIFE HAVE I DONE USED MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS IN A TOURNEY, OR IN A HAND, OR CHEAT ANYWAY WHATSOEVER. THATS WHY I HAVE NO PROBLEM STANDING UP FOR AN ISSUE THAT COULD RESULT IN ONLINE POKER GOING DOWN. IF YOU WANT ME PLAYING 20 ACCTS EVERY SUNDAY ALONG WITH EVERY OTHER PRO, THEN ACCEPT THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR, BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE WE ARE HEADING.

    If the story is true I am not sure it is cheating.

    I had a friend playing in a stars tourney once and when he couldnt finish he called me. I had been in the tournament but I had busted early and I finished it for him. We did not win it, but what if we had and our deal was to split the profit.

    I didnt feel like it was cheating, am i wrong?

    Why does it have to be so one-sided? Why can't we look at the issue and discuss it without first declaring it's "cheating"

    and why can't we flame someone without everyone saying "don't flame him"

    Make no mistake about this. I have no opinion-at all on what he did. That is for other people to decide. Only thing I was saying is that a player doesn't have 2 entries to a tournament this size to dump chips. Either way it doesn't seem that playing 2 accounts is defensable-and I don't feel a need or want. So please don't put me in the category that I am supporting this.

    Do us all a favor and end the "grandma" excuse.

    No matter how much of a poker fanatic she is, this is just one of the many ways that many people go about sticking additional accounts in tournaments.

    Either defend the practice or back the fuck down, but stop using grandma's account as a scapegoat.

    I have taken over tourneys for him, but never anytime that I had also played IN THAT SAME TOURNEY, which is where I have the problem with it.

    as mentioned earlier in this thread...I seem to remember reading you took over for sheets or vice versa for some reason. It is possible that memory cell was fried 3243781263 bong hits ago...but think hard. I'll try and find where i read that.

    Really, what's the difference?

    You play in a tourney. You bust out. 15 minutes later, you take over for someone. Basically, you're taking over for someone in a tourney that *you're not currently playing*. Does it really matter whether it is a tourney that you formerly played in or not? What are the specific differences?

    I do not think anyone disagree with the fact that JJ did an awesome job winning the tourney and he is a great player, i think the problem people are having is the fact that playing under 2 account is cheating, the fact that gramma came over to play in a tourney and he wanted to stake i think is a lie, if gramma wants to play a staked game i seriously dount she is gonna pock a 5000 entrant tourney that can last 9 hours as her tourney of choice, so there i think JJ is lying, the fact is i would assume many players do this, cheating happens alot in internet poker its a fact, its a sad fact that there will always be someone trying to figure out a way to cheat or get an advantage over their opponents. For those of you who say it isnt cheating , if it isnt cheating why dont the site allow multiple accounts, i am sure that the people who use multiple accts to cheat , use some way to make the ip address different and go out of their way to buy equipment to do this , so they know what they are doing is wrong hence cheating.like stated earlier i also think 5 guys sitting in a frat playinig the same table is cheating also. or people IMing each other while playing is cheating while telling hands. oh well as long as there are ways to cheat people will cheat. my question is this, did ya get refer a freind bonus for grandma.

    today my internet went dead at the FT.

    I told sheets about it and he said if it went down he could take over for me.

    mr haber himself played in that same very tournament.

    if my internet goes down again at the FT and i have to call sheets to finish the tourney, is he a cheater?

    The people defending JJ (although it's not really defending JJ, it's defending the situation, which has come up before and will again, and wouldn't have this time if GB wasn't such a loudmouth, or whatever) need to define your position.

    Either you are willing to defend your right and your ability to enter multiple accounts in the same tourney (fine) or you think it's ONLY okay in exceptional circumstances when your grandmother (or brother or whoever happens to be visiting your apartment that Sunday) lights up one of the Sunday tournaments, you have busted and then decide to take over. But Shaniac Jr thinks y'all have a problem admitting that you feel perfectly comfotable engaging in practices which some people find mildly-to-completely unethical.

    ONCE AGAIN STOP MENTIONING GRANDMA.

    Gank, as far as your comment about "looking at JJ differently as a result" or whatever, Shaniac Jr hopes you realize that more than a few of your friends do this.

    I think the only difference is the fact that you're given two shots at winning the same tournament, that is where i feel gank and others have a problem with it. (correct me if i'm wrong)

    Yeah, but in any situation where you take over for someone else, whether you played in the tourney already and busted or not, you're still on some kind of "deal" where you're not actually taking the entire winnings.

    The problem is, some of these other guys came on here airing their dirty laundry. They said that "People do it all the time...the top players do it....what's the big deal...get off him, etc"

    That's the issue!!!!!! If JJProdigy's story is legit (it seems pretty F'in far-fetched though), then what he did isn't really that big of a deal, IMO.

    The problem is, KNOWINGLY entering a tourney with more than 1 entry is fucked up, and people came on here and said it's perfectly fine. THAT IS THE ISSUE!!!
