    My "friend" feels real shitty about this bad beat, but was he truely a huge donkey here, or was it worth the 5K? I mean, he already had 4800 in the pot.

    Min raise in early pos with KJ is terrible, I would fold preflop. Betting so that he almost commits himself to a gutshot straight draw on the flop is terrible, especially with an A on board. Calling the raise with slim odds is terrible as well, if he justifies it by saying he was pot comitted (which he really wasnt) then that is no excuse because he became 'commited' by making 2 terrible plays...what a donk. I almost wish the other guy had AT...

    raising to steal the blinds with KJ would be the only reason to raise there, and when he gets called( calling with slick there is not the best play wither) . He should be dumping KJ unless he hit the flop hard, which is the exact opposite of what happened.

    If he is raising to steal then he needs to raise at least 3x the BB, not double.

    Either way- Very donkey-ish

    I think the question was post flop... nothing that horrible with pre anyway

    it was definitely a donkey call... usually you want to continuation bet on the flop, but in this case you have a gutshot AND the backdoor nut flush draw, so checking behind seems reasonable. He definitely did not have odds to chase after the shove, though.

    now i want to know why everybody comes to The_Takeover's defense when he calls a huge bet with 6 4 and a gutshot on the board, but calls my friend a donk for risking a mear 1/4 of his stack (of which 5K was already in the pot) on a 4 outer?

    And only one person criticized the BB, who had a reraising hand. How my friend was in the hand preflop is beyond me, and if my friend was bright enough to just check after the slowroll, he hits his gutshot, and looks like a genius.

    But I'll be sure to reprimend my friend.
