Like I said my Full Tilt ROI% is over 400%. I just started playing on there and had a hellacious run right off the bat ($50 to over $1900 is awesome especially since I've gotten good at bankroll management). Despite that though, I can't seem to pull a profit on pokerstars at all. I play really low limit games right now because my bankroll sucks, and that suprises me even more that I can't win. What do you guys think? Do you think the site has begun to intimidate me? Or is it because the variance is so much greater than on Full Tilt because of the size of the feilds and imo the better players? It could be something else I just want feed back, ha and yeah that's a slight brag about Full Tilt

Sounds like a very small sample size, not enough to really get any accurate data from it. Expect your FTP ROI to go down a lot in the long run because no one does that well there consistently. Likewise, you can expect your stars ROI to go up over time. The final numbers, well, it's hard to say. Depends on how well you're able to adjust to your opponents :)

Yeah you are probably right. I know that you are right about my FT ROI% going down, but I'm still really happy about it. I've started dieting and working out well too to help with my stamina for tournaments as well. We will see. Haha, lol @ the reply that says it's rigged in my favor. Hopefully I keep winning on Full Tilt and everyone thinks that way.

I think you should for get about stars and play exclusively on Fulltilt. You ought to be able to get in $10K worth of buyins a week. This should equate to about $2 million a year. A couple years of grinding like this and you will be set for life.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't consider it, but with the new synchronized breaks they won me back over. They have the largest tournaments anywhere too.

IMO, I think PS has the weaker players by a decent margin. FTP has its share of weak players, but the bigger the fields, the more weak players, so it just seems like common sense that the fields are stronger on FTP where the fields are smaller. The only real problem with PS is that there are probably more regulars there, so you are likely to find some pretty good players even in the micros. IDK?

As for having a better ROI at FTP, I'd suggest that their steeper payout structures should result in having a better ROI on that site if you are good closer. I'm no math wiz, but I'd say if you win a $10 tourney on PS that pays 17% to winner and one on FTP that pays 23% to winner you'll have a better ROI on FTP. Someone please check my math and show your work. -
so this, and i still hven't adjusted

depends on the # of entrants, if they are the same then this is right

Well, first off, this is likely variance. But, there can be some differences.
pokerstars does have better players, especially at the lower limits. Sure, you hear a lot of stories about the horrendous play, but there are a lot more future sharks at the lower limits of PS cutting their teeth. Full Tilt has some, but not as many.
Also, the blind structures are a little different, and the payouts are a little different, which all can lead to one being better for one player. I don't think one is neccessarily inherently better, but one can be better for your game.
I will be honest, I had something similar happen when I started at FT. I was able to win there, which was something over a few months I wasn't able to do at PS. Since I don't play that often, one site really covers my needs (either site would work) so I gradually went to putting almost all of my time in at FT. -
Yeah, looks like a very limited sample. It should all even out in the long run. For example, I have a solid ROI on pokerstars but have yet to pull my FTP account out of the red. If i keep playing, they should both end up being pretty similar and I imagine yours will too.

OP, on full tilt you have played 131 tourneys with an average field size of 1319. On stars you have played 3.3k tourneys, with a 2k average field size. given the absurdly small sample size on tilt, and the more meaningful (but still small) sample size on stars I'd say you are a slightly better than breakeven player that has run good in a few tourneys on tilt.
smaple size is everything, variance owns our souls -
I cant win on stars either. Since 2008 50%+ on every site and breakeven over 1100 mtts i think on stars. Drives me nuts to play there, its just bad beat after bad beat, monkeys callin 15bb shoves with 6 hi (which I obv want but they just get there constantly on me). Im sure its just variance but its just frustrating...

$20k in profit with a 80% ROI on FT over 620 tourneys- stars, eh not so much... -20% ROI on stars over 320 tourneys
-
Its easier to say its rigged than just variance obv
