  5. Just flop straight flushes. Easy game.

I was severely short so this at least gives me a fighting chance now.

  6. I don't understand why people play such a small amount of tourneys over such a long period of time. I prefer to pick a 3-4 hour window and about 20 good mtt's and call it a power session. F registering for 15 mtt's over 15 hours.

I don't get that luxury with omaha h/l.

Learn NL too and play both...I agree with you...I'd prolly go bout insane with this schedule as I would grinding sngs...and I hate sngs!

EDIT: What are the prizepools in these things max and what kind of expectation can u have in these? Like winning 1/15 would see like a long shot but I don't know omaha, and I don't even know what kind of variance you'd have, but if you ship one for like 400, buy in for 200, and play 15 hrs...eek.

Prize pools vary from $2k to $5k. 1st in most of them is around 900ish.

And Yes I would be happy winning 1/15...That would be great, but last Friday I played 5 and won 3, and netted $3.8k.

My lifetime ROI in 08 tournies is 140%. I'm probably going to be spending between $400-$500 after the rebuys. So in a perfect world I'd make 140% of my buyins.

What you should do if you are specializing in one smaller field game is to play the mtts on multiple sites at least... there was an $11 hilo like half an hour ago on ftp, there's an $11 NL O8 in an hour, and a few more during the day so at least you have a few more tables... maybe play Omaha hi a little bit too? even if you are skilled at a niche game, most of your profit still comes from volume, so you have to do something to increase it, even if it's just playing across multiple sites, or picking up stud/8 too, etc.

    Good luck today though...

I usually try to mix in some lower stakes ($11-$33) omaha, horse, and 7 or 8 game in my schedule. They all seem really soft and I seem to get deep a lot, but the fields are usually are around 200 max give or take, and a lot of the time 1st may barely pay 4 figures, but I still think these tourneys are worth playing even tho you won't hit a huge score. It may at least balance out some of your other higher variance mtt's.

I do realize that, but why not play a bunch of NLHE events and mix in the other games with it?

Everytime I play a holdem tourney I end up saying its the stupidest game out there after I bust. Ha. I definitely notice a difference in the skill set between nl holdem players and pl omaha 8 players, and I don't know what else to say other than I have the tools for omaha, but am lacking at holdem.
