I always like to see other guys results so I thought I would post mine too. I’m just a Friday night player for the most part. Although in January I played much more than I normally would. (had a few free days) I doubt I will ever play this many in a one month span again.
January was my first jump above the $5 sngs. I had been playing the $5 sngs and occasional $1-$10 MTTs. I finally built my BR (from $50) to a point where I felt comfortable moving to the $10s and $20s sngs.
Not a lot of money but I’m one of the guys that is just playing for fun and really playing for take home money. More wins will just move me up the food chain of fun.
My observations:
- the $11s and $22s are more enjoyable than the $5 for the play alone. A few more of the players actually play poker at these levels.
- The $33s (at least the ones I played) are noticeably harder to beat. Still not too hard but the last few players left in a sng had more discipline.
- I played too many Turbos….I just don’t do as well in these and the $27s were wildly different in play…some that lasted 30 min and one that lasted over an hour! (but my sample size is small)
- I also tried to run 4 tables at once for a couple of sessions….didn’t do well. For now, my optimum number of tables is two.
- My ITM and ROI are lower than the 250 or so $5 sngs I played…but I guess that is to be expected. I think my ROI will be closer to 30% when I exclude the turbos and playing more than two tables at a time.
I also found I really like the $20 180 man tourneys. Soft play and nice not to last more than 3 ˝ hours…I’ll be playing more of these.
