Being forced to play poker is always a good thing :/ Why go if you don't want to go and are forced?
  6. my backer says i have to play in every circuit this year and play 1 event each day.makes it a little tough on me.i havent been to iowa lol and havent travled much more than tampa.i live in miami so this is a long flight and im going alone.seems scary.im just nervous to be honest.120.00 isnt that much when the hotel cost that much and my cash games will be 100.00 buy in but his whole purpose is to see if i can handle playing everyday and keep a solid mind.

im also going strght from iowa to las vegas for the first time for 3 days 27th-29th free trip though than vegas to miami back home.hopefully i cash thats my whole goal.cash 1 event even for 150.00 lol just cash.

i would like to know if any one else is going.so im not alone lol.these tournys will only have like 500-1000 players max so i am def hoping i can win.i need to study the structures.

  7. Highly doubt there are 500-1K runners.

    Just an example.

  8. Good lord your backer is messed up in the head. Iowa is small as hell...how can it be scary when you live in Miami? I went there last year and it's, well, Iowa. Not much to see in the Plains. Being forced to play EVERY circuit event is just absurd. Not even playing the biggest buy ins there is a waste of a trip/life money/etc. Your costs for food, flight, and hotel aren't even worth playing for a 10k prize. I'd rather grind a daily full schedule online and maybe play a series for fun once in awhile, rather than fly my ass across the country all year playing live 120 buy ins. No offense, but the whole thing sounds stupid, and you sound like ur barely 18 :/
  9. wow you're flying out and booking hotel to play a bunch of $150 events? am I reading this right?

  10. FWIW Wanta, the series is in August this year and not in the middle of winter like it was last year, and with revamped circuit shit going on, ppl might be more excited to play. But agree, doubt they get 1000 runners.
  11. yeah but the main event is only 1,600.00 and it wont even have 1000 players im guessing i dont know its my first wsop im going to.less players makes it easier to cash lol.

  12. hit the unreg button imo. btw, we know you're new but what is your backer's excuse?

who says all the fish are drying up? LOL
  14. Let me halla at your backer if he is choosing to do this!
  15. POY=this guy....POAST-RRRRRR uv da yeer
  16. my backer is my uncles friend he regular plays the big slick down here in miami 1,500.00 event he put me in it twice in my life and im 1-1 i cashed in it making 4,600.00 1 time and he let me keep it all.very nice of him.he told me if i wanted to play the world series circuit and i said hell yeah and he gave me 5 rules

1.must play all events he tells me and buys me into.
2.must play the same amount for cash games.so if a 120.00 buy in i play 1-2 100.00 cash game if i lose.
    3.no drinking
4.no other gambling such as bj slots or other than that.however ill be doing online sports betting since im so limited on my own dime.
5.must wake up and eat a solid breakfast before playing

the trip is about 3,500.00 if that so worse case we lose 3,500 and i know he wont be that mad.if i do good maybe ill get moved up to the 235.00 for october thats what im atleast hoping.im also looking to start building my roll since im under 5,000.just very excited on this trip and just want to see what happens.

im just excited honestly to be playing in this.if i can run good and make a final table ill be happy as hell.it wont be for more than 10k but still a win is a win.

  17. Gl man I was just joking bro. I would take that opportunity anytime. Do you have to pay for your flights or is he covering you on this to?

5.must wake up and eat a solid breakfast before playing
    3.no drinking

    My fav rules hahahahah
  18. I'm still wondering if I'm missing something. Aren't the $150 events like the evening second chance events with the horribad structure? You're not even going to be playing the daily main events? Definitely not worth the trip if this is the case.

EDIT: my bad, guess I'm wrong. http://www.harrahs.com/images/non_im...P_Schedule.pdf

2nd EDIT: wait, yea, those are the nightlies. don't do it!

  19. he is paying everything flight hotel taxi food and everything.if i win i give him 70 percent i get 30 percent and stake back.thats what we got right now.this is a cheap trip he says becuase he sometimes plays poker in atlantic city and plays blackjack he says for fun at 100.00 a pop some nights.so i know if i lose everything ill be fine.all he asked is for me to play my best and tell him how i feel after the week is over.120.00 isnt a high mtt at all and i honestly want to be at 235.00 for october with a clear mind.this is what i want honestly.i will also be playing online as much as possible becuase my roll online is really low.im just looking for all the support i can get and advice on playing these such tournys.so many players ive read made it from playing the circuit like dennis phillps and darvin moon and im just hoping its my time to shine.im not asking to make it to the big leagues i just wanna be able to play year round and have a solid bankroll.

what do you mean meta im not playing the 1,600 main event no im only playing the 120.00 buy ins except for a 235.00 horse also 100.00 nl cash games why what is wrong with the structures.if i may ask.

yeah the 7pm tournys the night ones what is wrong with these.

If he's only playing the 2nd chances, 700PM's, then they will def have less than 200 runners.

  22. this whole thread made me LOL, thanks OP I really needed this
  23. i dont expect alot of players in the turnys im playing like 200 or less except for the horse i expect 500 in that one but i think 10 or 15 percent cash so 200 players 30 cash right or am i understand this wrong

sorry like 180 mans 18 cash 1st place is still like 5k or so right

  24. 200 players = 27 places paid most of the time.

    This event paid out 27.

  25. whats wrong with playing the 7pm tournys honestly
    Thread Starter
  26. I'd expect like 50ish tops for the HORSE tourney. The only HORSE tourney I've played live had 35 runners and the average age of the field had to be 50 something, just a heads up for the target demographic. They only paid 5 players and the prizepool wasn't worth the 1 hour drive to play in it.
  27. so lets say 220 players 26k prize pool 1st place should be over 5k easily and the field should be soft.

yeah i still want to know why the 7pm tounrys are worse than the others.

  29. i just feel if it is 180 man to 300 man i feel i can play my best game and possibly take 1 down or go deep

  30. The reason the 7PM arent as good as the regular events.

Smaller starting stack and way shorter levels. they only want the tourny to go 4 or 5 hours instead of 12 like the daily events. Not as much play, much more like a turbo.
