Had a pretty good day in mtts. Got 3rd in the dime tourney on dise for a little over 4k, 3rd in the ub 109 for a little over 2k and 5th in the 109 shootout on stars for 500. Then proceeded to go to party and dump it all back in 100-200 and 10-20 nl. Gamb00000000000l....
I gotta say, Joeytheb owned my ass. There were 3 left in the dime tourney and I was the big stack for 20k Joey had 17k blinds were 600-1200 and i raised with 55 on the button to 3k and joeytheb reraises to around 7k and I interpret this raise as a move(although the size of his raise should have tipped me off to the strength of his hand). I decide at this point to put him all in, for most players it is a very tough call to make with one player nearly out - u have to fold even AK here because at best u are a 70 - 30 and do you really want to get knocked out 30 percent of the time with a short stack about to leave and 2k guaranteed? Its a sng move, to reraise another decent stack when one is about to get knocked out is typical, you make the short stack fold and u put the guy with a decent stack to a test. Joeytheb plays to win however, and instacalls with QQ and doubles up leaving me with less than 3k in chips and I get knocked out next hand by the short stack. Then joey knocks out the short stack and wins. gg. I have to add, that my reasoning for putting joey all in was also related to the prize differences. 3rd and 2nd were less than 2k apart while first and 2nd were about 5k apart -- I was playing for first. Now I imagine most people will be like "you idiot how can u put ur tourney on the line with 55" and my answer is you cant fold pocket fives... ever... naw really, i trust my instincts and make moves when i think i can make someone fold or if i think i have the best hand... I dont make textbook plays and most textbook players dont win that much. or maybe im just a donkey that has gotten lucky
