I have a pretty new hp laptop. I don't know that much about computers but it's not a huge pos or anything, but it can't handle my sessions with holdem manager running. I usually play two sites w 10-20 tables going so being able to use HM is pretty huge. When I use it my computer freezes for 20-30 seconds once every hour or two. Kinda a frustrating problem, plus it kills my timebanks. Anybody got any good advice to make my computer run faster? Things to delete/download/etc??

It depends on what OS you are using. I am thinking Vista. These are the steps through XP. You may be able to find similar settings for Vista. You need to run a "selective startup" which involves going to the start menu, select run, and type msconfig. Select the tab selective startup and basically uncheck everything you don't need. You could probably just uncheck everything. You should see a pretty significant increase in your computers performance.

I did the same thing on my laptop to speed it up and it helped a lot. Pretty positive I have Vista and all I had to do was go to Control Panel<Programs<Change Start-up Programs and disable everything I didn't think I needed.

Just as a note, security programs can significantly decrease the performance of your computer. The reason is they are always running and scanning items being registered and read from the PC's memory, which hogs a ton of resources. If you are playing just online poker and listening to music, I suggest closing those programs out.

I totally deleted Norton off my pc, switched to ESET NOD32 and have seen a big difference in how my pc runs faster and loads quicker.
