  1. I dont know how to deal with this type of play. Im consistently running into these players, but because I dont understand what they are thinking or why they play like this, I have no clue the best line to take against them.

Ive got a legit button raise hand. Im more than capable of letting it go if necessary. I dont really expect a call from the blinds, I expect either a push or fold, and thats where the trouble starts, I get called by both. I figure Im good after flopping top pair, but if Im outkicked so be it. When it checks to me theres about 7200 in the pot, I decided the 4800 bet is more than enough to decide the hand one way or the other, but again I just get called. Do I just push the flop considering the other stack sizes, do I check the flop and push the turn if the draws miss? I cant see any sense in giving a free card on the flop, but I keep losing these, so maybe Im missing something.

I can deal with a push preflop from either of them, or a lead out on the flop, or check raise, something, ANYTHING that makes some sort of play to win the pot. But just calling down like this baffles me, and I dont know how to combat it.

    Any suggestions?

  2. It really doesn't matter what hits the river here, you are going to have to call it with the odds. I agree, that he has a push or fold option on the flop. He has 1 over and a flush draw. Even if he pushes the flop, you're not folding for another 1865 when you already have 7200 in the middle and the pot is over 17K. We're not arguing this point, but If I were him, I'd have pushed you preflop. As played, he made a play after the flop with a 4 flush and 1 over and got lucky on the river. It happens.
The way I see it, you did your job by getting it in with top pair after the flop. You aren't going to combat this particular hand.
  3. I'm just wondering if there's a better way to play hands against calling stations. They seem to give me the most trouble. If you knew going into the hand your opponent will most likely call instead of raise, how would you approach this hand from the start? Would you raise differently preflop, limp, not play it at all? Would you bet the flop differently?
