I wonder if some of the online pros who run tutorial sites would share their net income with us (NSX-T, gidders and Gank, etc;)? Curious to know.
Thanks ,

I'd be curious too. What does a "pro" make in comparison to really good non-pros. For example, how much would I consistently have to make online before I could go into a bank and secure a loan based soley on the fact that I was a "poker pro."
-
My point here is that I think there should be more transparency; especially among those who want to capitalize on their playing ability (you have this is almost every sport - not saying poker is a sport, but it is a competitive event and - these days - on an open stage).
As a lurker, I've seen threads from the online pros listing all the tourneys they've won in last X days and this is used for rankings, self-promotion and/or business promotion etc;, but at the end of the day how much did you make?

Well NSXT just got a $250k car.. so id say its up there, lol..
-
Or are most of his earnings from his Poker School/poker-related biz ventures (Paradise, etc;)? He did state that he lost $$$ money one month recently (when questioned about being his move down on the rankings).
-
Through Gidders supersystem i am making $30 million a month playing nothing higher than $5 sngs
-
$80 million*****

= )
Gidders Owns!!! -
SCGolfer - I don't doubt you disagree with its relevancy, but of its appropriateness. Most people wouldn't want everyone knowing how much they make, but this is different.
If you're using poker perfomance in a public forum as a springboard to tutorial-related business ventures, etc; then you should disclose how much your net income is. This is poker after all and net income is one of the best indicators we have. -
I'm not really looking to join their forum or pose this question with the realistic expectation of honest answer.
Just trying to see if others are concerned that re: the numbers matching up with the hype. I suspect if you were to take a look behind the curtain, they wouldn't. Any input/thoughts welcome. -
you make a great point 300zx. If these "pros" are making claims and asking people to follow their advice based upon incorrect or misleading data, that has the potential for dangerous consequences.
I'll post here what I put on a couple other threads. -
This is in response to a player who claims to be a "pro".
If you want to put time and energy into praising someone's volunteer work, why not send a letter to the red cross?
To say he deserves donations or the like is an insult to real volunteers everywhere (volunteer firemen, rescue workers, etc). Lets think about the grand scheme of things before we make comments like this.
The guy is volunteering to help people who presumably have little money create a large bankroll. Does anyone else see the potential disasters surrounding this????? People who shouldn't be playing poker are going to be taking money they shouldn't be gambling with and using his system to try and "take a shortcut in life" (i.e. will think, hmmm, I can be a pro like gidders too and not have to work, maybe I'll use next month's rent/grocery money/insert any money here that needs to support my family and turn it into 5K). The next thing you know this guy has gambled away hard earned money that he should never have been gambling with in the first place. So before you call what he is doing noble, look at the bigger picture. He is helping people learn to gamble, which I don't know if it deserves all this praise. You should also praise people who bring us free porn and free racist propaganda, because these two things degenerate society just as much as gambling. -
Gidders is too as good as NSXTmilliondollarcars and gankowns
-
Estoppel,
I find your post extremely offensive. You go to great pains to discredit people who help other people play a game they love. For what reason, did Gank or NSXT2 ever piss in your corn flakes?
Poker is not gaming in the traditional sense. If I play a golf tourney or scrabble tourney that has an entry fee and pays prize money, am i gambling? Is your next rant going to be on the boards of Scrabble International telling them how much they are degenerating society. If not you are a hypocrite. How about the old gummers down at the senior center playing cribbage for money, are they the next big threat to society on the same level as skinheads?
So you swoop in here acting like you are the holy man here to save us and pretend to know what advice pro's give their students. Any pro worth a plug nickel always tells his students to manage his bankroll first and minimize risk. Never invest rent money in high risk short term investment vehicles. You find the same advice in all stock and commodity trading manuals as well.
So in the spirt of giving, I will tell you what my students learn first. Soupies 5 rules that guarantee a winner.
1. Manage your bankroll. Never risk more than 5% a day for any reason.
2. Hold your temper.
3. Win the most number of chips when you have the best hand.
4. Lose the least when you have the worst hand.
5. Don't beat yourself.
And now for the truth. My students are all on track to make anywhere from 30K to 100K+ this year.I am making more than that. I do not charge them and I am not accepting anymore. I am happy for their success. They give money to the Red Cross and friends in need.
If you dont promptly apologize, I hope Adam and the gang make you disappear. I am fairly sure he doesnt like being told he is on par with Hitler.

If you watch a certain player a lot and 'see' how much he wins, make your best guess estimate and then divide by 2. He's probably making less than that amount. I think that's a pretty good rule of thumb.
The vast majority of players who talk about how much they win are either bs-ing, over-estimating, or haven't been playing long enough. -
my sentiments also mantis lol
-
ummmm
Estoppel....
your off track budy....
yeah.... way off track....
Are you still watching Hurricane footage and still brainwashed, I will admit that I did have red crosses 1800 number implanted in my head for about a month.
And i bet that those terrible people (gank, todd) donated a small sum of $ to the red cross.....
along with every1 else who plays poker yeah...
so yeah.... -

No please, not this again. Why must you keep posting this in every thread threat that is remotely related to winning at poker?
We've all read it and most of us already disagree with 90% of what has been said.
Who cares if NSXT, Gank, Gidders, Etc actually only make 1/50th of what they claim. You should be analytical enough to decide for youself if their instruction is worth paying for or viewing for free.
Maybe NSXT really drives a '92 Lumina and Gidders actually had to borrow $50 from his grandma last month to pay his electric bill. Who cares?
Its no different than reading a poker book written by a "pro" player. Read it, decide if its quality instruction or complete garbage, move on...next.
No reason to call them out and say that they are trash players because you dont like the way they play poker. Point blank man... its no secret that the above names have shown positive results of some magnitude. So they are offereing a solid source of information for losing players, or winning players who are just looking for other viewpoints of the game. If I watch someone's vids and lose my roll, then I'm idiot. Its my fault for playing out of my range or for playing terrible poker because I followed bad advice. -
Estoppel, yeah....wtf does Gidders' site have to do with disaster relief volunteers?
The fact that you keep bringing this up kills me. This is a poker forum, not RedCross.
When someone says that Gidders rocks and his site is great, that has no relation to Hurrican Katrina. No one said that those volunteers dont deserve praise and the victims dont deserve help.
But to say that Gidders' actions arent commendable in context to poker is ridiculous.
Your post makes no sense man, so I hope you really arent a law student.
I reraised prelop with T8 and the tree outside is deciduous. -
well, yesterday, Sheets and Reddog133 both made about $12k for their respective wins, while slimshaggy made about $23k.
<READMORE>
so if you say that, on average, those guys make about $15k per day and run that over a year (let's say a year is about 358 days so those guys can take off for like Easter or something), it comes out to around $5 million per year.
on a serious note, Todd has posted before what he invests per month and what he makes per month, on average. there has been a problem with misquoting him, so i'll let you search for it so i don't start an argument over the actual numbers. -
your name is estoppol. a legal term? hardly....super euro...absolutely.
-
actually, estoppel is probably a freshman law student and wants everyone to know how much he's learning in law school. Likewise, I'm an econ major and I take every opportunity to tell people why an increase in the price of peanut butter will raise the demand for a substitute product.
please estoppel, stfu -
Did Adam ban estoppel? Is that what is being insinuated? GG duchebag.
I believe Todd said he "invests" (meaning buy-ins etc.) 15k a month to make 30-45k. Rough numbers, that's just off the top of my head, but I thought I saw that somewhere on here in the last month or two. Which is roughly a 15-30k profit per month. Happy? -

Are you serious!? Hey thanks for playing the role of the morality police. Dude, sounds like you've had a problem with this in the past?? I mean, its sad when this happens, but, come on, dont come in here and preach to us about gambling. I also think your insulting most peoples intelligence by saying that. I seriously cant stand people that feel like they need to impose their view of whats right and whats wrong. Just because you win 5k, I seriously doubt most people would quit there jobs, considering that a lot of people on here probably make more than 5k a month at there day job or are students that dont have those kinds of responsibilites.
So, in other words, gfy and get bent and
*hugs*
