This was the final table of a 180 player $10+1 SNG
Hello Christopher,
It has come to our attention that during Tournament #38506161 you made
some comments during the play of a hand regarding the contents of a hand.
I have copied the hand history below, including the comments. While such
table talk may be tolerated in cash games, in tournament play the rules
are much stricter.

Fair play, I did break the rule. But if this applied to Jamie Gold he would never have won the WSOP.
MrNiphty must have emailed support to complain, I guess.
Pokerstars got their revenge though. I got all in a few hands later preflop with AQ against AJ and a jack flopped to put me out.

Honestly, I wish they would enforce this rule more often , It gets tiresome with railers and player yelling at others to call or fold. That is the primary reason they stop chat when a player is all in, because too many people do not understand the rules of the game. any time an outside source gives info at a table while there is action to follow and might change the play of the person to act should not be happening.
-
More than likely someone informed pokerstars support of this infraction. If anyone had called Jamie Gold on his infractions, he probably would have backed down with his behavior. Since he wasn't getting called, it just makes good sense to keep doing something that is working. Like him or hate him, Jamie Gold got game.
-
Thats really bad etiquette. I hate when ppl say stupid shyt like that when they're not in the hand, and there are still ppl yet to act.
-
Good for them, I hope they crack down on every single cumquat that does this...
Seriously, are you griping about this? Do you really not understand how horrible what you did is? -
Rank Him ^^^^^^
-
You're absolutely right I reported this. For you to call out what you think Im betting with there, regardless if you had money in the pot (which you did not) was absolute bullshit. I have no chat so I can't tell you to STFU, so I let pokerstars deal with it.
Also, I made that play with AQ, so I definately did not want a call. Thats what pissed me off the most, you fuckers were trying to coax him into it, where if he calls all I split are the blinds and antes.
Maybe you should check out rules 1-15 so you dont disgrace the game in the future. -
I posted this because it is the first time I have had any kind of a warning in 4 years playing on pokerstars.
I admitted in my post that what I did was wrong. I have no problem with you emailing support - you have every right to do so.
I thought this would be interesting for people to see on this forum. I don't think most players would have bothered to email support about this.
Don't worry all you posters - I won't violate this rule again. -
terrible etiquette. i dont know why you post this to show how classless you are. pretty silly.
-
You're right about that.
We're in a "I tell you i'm a thief and you call me a liar" situation.
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone. -
First off, at least you can admit your mistake and I will give you credit for that. You were wrong and probably will not do it again. You should know better then to post your wrongdoing on this site though. Most people here are just looking to trash people no matter what they do.
-
"Most people here are just looking to trash people no matter what they do. " No. Most people here love poker and hate seeing posts like this where someone is being classless in the game we love. His post is stupid and i have no idea why he posted it.
-
Agreed. F people who talk in a hand. Absolute bullshit, and I guarantee I email support every time someone does this in a hand I see, whether I'm in it or not. I say lifetime chat ban for retards that do this.
-
I will report this garbage every time. I think a 2nd infraction should result in at least a 6 month chat ban.
-
This is one of the weirder rules IMO, I really don't see what differance it makes if you want to tell someone your hand, seems stupid to me to tell someone your hand but classless?
-
Read the post again jtown
-
I know Niphty, he's a deluded POS who likes to polish the PS apple. I personally do things like this while I'm in the hand, but not when I'm not in it. You just did this to the wrong POS, because this guy has some sort of large object up his rectal cavity.
-
I think the first incidence of table talk/collusion should result in a 1 month chat ban and any furthur infraction should be a perminant loss of chat. Table talk is collusion, plain and simple. I understand that you watch your poker shows on tv and then go out and try to emulate the people you see in $10 tournaments, but please understand that you are making a horses ass out of yourself, which in and of itself isn't a problem (it's actually pretty funny). It's when you cross the line to cheating that it becomes a problem.
For the record I report every single instance of table talk on every site, and I encourage others to do it as well. It takes all of 10 seconds and helps to curb this growing problem. Remember, folks, ignorance of the rules isn't justification for breaking them. -
Amazing to me the amount of people who blatantly collude and think its Okay.
Honestly, people like yourself and those who say "check it down" on a regular basis should have their chat banned PERIOD. Also, Jamie Gold is an idiot and some of his bullshit did break the rules and he SHOULD HAVE RECIEVED A PENALTY.
THANK YOU pokerstars FOR INFORMING PEOPLE THIS IS NOT OKAY! -
does that apply to multi-accounting as well?
-
"I fold."
Paul Wasika -
After re-reading the post, I still don't get it, who actually listens to the advice of the rail? I equate it to someone in the stands at a football game yelling "throw it deep" to the coach, on 2nd and 2, when it's obv he's going to run it.
-
Sin and first stones, etc.
-
LMAO. Come on jtown you are better than this. Now twice you have not read the post or the table correctly. The person in question was: 1. sitting at the table and 2. commenting on a hand to another player who the action was on and was trying to make a decision. The OP was neither person who made the raise or the person who was trying to make a decision. Absolute BS. And I like many others, have no idea why the OP put this on here. My first thought was that he was intending to "brag" that he is now in the "Chat Ban Club". Getting your chat banned for calling a donkey a fucking idiot with many other expletives to follow is typically funny. This ban just makes himself look like an idiot.
-
I hate mofo's that aren't in the hand commenting on the action, it pisses me off. Also please speak ENGLISH ONLY I don't care if your only talking about perogi's and snow STFU and speak english or don't talk, Andy Rooney said it best. TY Merry Christmas
-
Wow multi-colored HH's with antes really throw me off my HH reading game. I don't really know why I thought he was an observer this time, I guess I just went with my gut instinct.
-
You really don't see a problem here? If someone has say AK on a rag flop and the opponent moves in he could easily consider folding assuming he is behind. But if 20 people pop up and all start saying 'OBV he has AQ' "call he is bluffing hes got nothing" "AK IS GOOT" etc you don't think that might have a chance to influence the outcome of the hand?
If you aren't in the hand and you do pretty much anything that could change the outcome, that is not right. It is activity that lowers someone's expectation and increases someone elses. That is against the rules. Poker is a one player game. It can be fun to rail someone but if you wan't to effect the outcome, go sit at your own table, and play your own hand.
