whats your thoughts on how many times to rebuy in these?
you can rebuy up to 1million chips, $2 for 3000
The lad who has been chipleader for the first 4 hours in the one i am playing now bought in for $420, so has to get 7th to break even -
I don't even see this on the schedule? Is it a once a day thing?
fwiw, I probably dont rebuy for more than what you would get for min-cashing. -
id 331148294

$420 sounds like a standard $2r for me.
-
I'm not that good at poker and I even know thats a bad idea.
-
imo anything u cant do with 20-30k at the addon u cant do anyway. if im at less than 20k i load up to it then add.
-
$420 = 210 units.
210 units * 3000 chips per unit = 630,000 chip stack.
630,000 chip stack = first place on the money bubble.
This tourney is crazy. -
I'm not sure I understand, is it unlimited rebuys?? Doesn't it just then become the guy with the deepest pockets who can become chipleader?

this looks fun fun fun
rebuy just enough to be the biggest stack at every table you are at? -
They need to do a 5 re with unlimited rebuys like they used to in the good old party poker days, danm that tourny was awesome.

Total spent for 1 million chips = $666.66
Number of the beast baby! I'm staying away from this tourney. -
^^^ failed math class...

how do you get 66 cents? when its a 2.20 buy in with 2 dollar rebuys? and even then how do you get the 6 cents on the end if you forgot to take out rake -
Math nits itt
999000 chips for $666.20 then? -

1000000/3000 = 333.33
333.33 x 2 = 666.6666666666666666666666666666666667
Excuse me for not taking the .20 rake into the calculation. Ah, semantics.
How about this. I round it up to $667. Now I can play. -
you cant partially rebuy sir. therefore at 666.20 you would have 999000 chips, and therefore have to rebuy for $2 whole dollars to get to the million chip mark.

can't fathom how long this tourney would take

A shitload of levels (compared to most stars tourneys) and 10 min each too. The amount of rebuys in these will be regulated by the amount of days people wish to play i guess unless the standard opening bet is counted in x rebuys instead of blinds. The blinds reach one single buy-in after 4 hours playtime. At that time a max buy-in basestack still has 650+ BB.

This seems to become one tough challenge to win for a micro stakes player that buys in for 6 dollars ;)
Will be interesting to see if this is a tournament that people will enjoy over time or not...
Come to think of it... this could open for a new type of play. No reason to fold any hand pre but instead you make limits at how many raises you call with a certain type of hand. 7-2 you would probably not join with after a couple of raises... suited connectors maybe 4-5 raises and so on...
