honestly feel like he took the words straight from my head... I've been on a downswing and feeling the same way. Great Article. Best of Luck Grapsfan!

Pretty much wraps up the reasons I haven't played much this month. I haven't been in the right mood to play, so I've just stopped playing. I just need to figure out what that "something else" that I'd rather do is.

agreed... I only play now when I feel like it instead of donating when I should not be playing. That means I may play only 1, 2, or 3 days in a week instead of 5, but w/e it works and I feel better when I actually want to play.

I think he pretty much hit it on the head. While I don't play many tournaments ( cash game player ) if for some reason I just don't really feel like playing I don't. While I do make a portion of my income from playing poker I don't feel I should be playing on any given day just because of it. It is my belief if I can't bring my "A" game to the table just don't play.

impressive as always

yeah was good. I donated about $800 yesterday coming home after a friday night down the pub and playing and also played today when I was thinking and wanting to go out and donated some more money. I'm already gonna start playing cricket and going down the gym and hope that it fills that 'other' thing I want to be doing.

His article was good. Always happy to find a guy with real insight on losing streaks.. not the typical, "pstars is rigged" and such.. =]

Thanks for the kind words, everyone.
OP, wat u think? You have your own opinion? Always nice to hear from as many people as possible. -
I like Grapsfan and like the message of the article, but I think if he's worried about a 55 MTT sample downswing he's jumping the gun big time. That's simply not a big enough sample to determine much.
Edit: MTT's are a volume game due to their enormous variance. I think you need a sample size in the area of several hundred before you can draw any conclusions. Keep up the writing though. -
Quite certainly true, Bond. In the grand scheme of big-field online MTTs, my last 60 or so tournaments are nothing unusual. But every time someone goes through the worst swing they've had to date (be it tournaments, cash games, or in my case, both), it's cause for concern.
How you deal with the concern saying something about the player you are, and the player you could end up being.
