important information, very recent developements, all in this 2p2 thread:

to summarize, the user 363 superuser account was traced to an email address at an Absolute Poker domain believed to belong to a "Scott Tom". IP and email cross references showed that this was in fact the email of Scott Tom, CEO of Absolute Poker. Further research involving an internet company "Amnet" (which is used by p5s incidentally) showed that the IP address is a home modem. It was also revealed that a 2p2 poster who claimed to be high up in Absolute and who was spamming the boards with Absolute promotions and such had the same IP.

correct me if any of this info is wrong.

Conclusion: the CEO of absolute poker was using the superuser account from his home computer.

Thanks to Nat, Adanthar, and all who figured this stuff out, most incredible display of internet research I have ever seen.

Whether Scott Tom is still CEO and has a big part in Absolute poker after the Absolute UB merger, I do not know.

Adanthar connected the whole thing to Scott Tom.

Is it possible that if the AP CEO is behind this that he did it because of the UB merger? Maybe the guy was going to lose his job as a result of it and decided to try and make a quick payday while he still could.

I met this guy along with all his frat buddies two years ago in Vegas after qualifying on AP for the main event. This does not surprise me at all, and I actually played some poker with them and they were god awful, so I'm not surprised at all that potripper's cheating was so obvious. They were a bunch of cocky guys in their late 20s and they liked to brag how they played high stakes games with celebs at the palms. FU Scott Tom.

The way this was figured out is simply amazing. I am so impressed. Future scammers can just take one look at the detective work here and they will realize there are people smarter than them who will nail their ass if they try any similar bullshit. Score one for the good guys.

This sucks because when I try telling friends/family about this insane debacle everyone's going to think I've gone mad and am into conspiracy theories.

If/when this is confirmed, p5ers and 2+2ers better stop playing Absolute. Prize pools might be juicy and all, but continuing to provide them business signals to all poker companies that integrity and scam-prevention is of no importance.

Will somebody please make a movie about this? Russell Crowe will play Nat, insane-decipher-man.

they have asked me and marco for an interview... not sure what we're gonna do tho, I want to wait for all the facts to come out first, no need to rush and have them print a story with speculation... Nat, adanthar and some other guys at 2+2 are doing an amazing job right now and we will have a lock of a case to present soon...
