Very smart people here and I commend them. Being an investigator myself in the real world I am impressed. However when doing an investigation you have to be fair to the parties involved. if you come up with information that will exonerate the suspect you have to divuldge it or you are no better then the criminals.
AP has released a statement saying they are going to have a Third Party investigate for them. They named the company who will be doing this investigation. If this investigation shows AP has nothing to do with the scam, will there be this many posts apologizing to them? If ScottTom did infact violate the law who is going to prosecute him? Costa Rica? surely not the USA.
AP execs had way to much to lose by being involved or covering up. The CEO is a former employee and I am sure they would not risk millions for someone they had rid themselves of for reasons unknown to us.
Lets see what this independent audit brings and I hope you all who have posted your investigation findings here continue to monitor AP because you have done a terrific job. But remember ....a good investigator will also admit if he/she was wrong. -
A "third-party" investigation has already taken place...why are you going to believe this "investigator" if they find differently than the one, nat/waco/et al., has done?
edit: nice first post chihuahua. -
I noticed you first said a "Third Party" will investigate, but later you say "independent audit". I guess being such a cracker jack investigator yourself you kind of missed the part where the company named to do the investigation has a big vested interest in the outcome, really isn't independent, and isn't very good at this type of thing in the first place.

Why would the Enron execs do what they did when they were multi-millionaires and could have just told the truth and worst case, possibly been forced to leave the company?
Plus, we don't know for sure that Scott Tom is well off. A lot of people that "make millions" and appear to be well off have horrific spending habits, blowing hundreds of thousands here and there and racking up debt like you wouldn't imagine. Suppose he is addicted to high stakes gambling? We all know he's a shi**y poker player (well, those of us who have seen him play know that).
I'm not suggesting I have a clue as to what Scott Tom's financial situation is, but just because "he has millions", or appears to, doesn't mean he wouldn't do something stupid like this. -
AP had more people than normal during prime time last night. I'd be very suprised if they closed up shop anytime soon. Flame away.

warren commission-esque???
Anxiously awaiting AP's "magic bullet theory" -
I just threw up in my mouth a little

you know how many normal online poker players actually surf poker forums? Not enough to affect their bottom line for some time..

Wow - how shady is this. Scott Tom isn't the CEO of AP, he's the CEO of the company that owns AP and UB. I for one know he's still involved with the company business of BOTH sites.
Keep in mind, the people that own this site are 20-somethings, who are rich, living in a country with no rules (Costa Rica)... I'm just surprised it's taken so long for someone to get caught.
So - how bad is it in AP's ***official*** release that they lie and try to coverup that Scott hasn't been a part of the company.
Wow...
