  1. How about an anonymous email system? You can click on the username to send that user an email (of course the user gets a little check box on his profile page that lets him opt in or out of this service). When you click on the username you get a form to fill out like an email and then the site forwards it to that users registered email (so you arnt actually giving out the persons email). What do you guys think?

  2. Good for constructive dialogue.

Bad otherwise. Not only is the recipient shielded, but the sender as well.

Much better if we all hafta say "f beanie" in person.

  3. When you send an email, the email that you signed up with is automatically used at the return email address...plus the name catagory will be automatically filled with the name you signed up with, so for someone to send an anonymous email would be possible, but a HUGE pain in the ass. And also, if people are getting too many non-constructive emails, they can just opt out of it. Right? Or am I missing something.

  4. IM is a feature on many Message board/Forum websites. I like it. It does sometimes cut down on some discussions because people have them in private with a single party, but overall, IM is a nice feature.
  5. The reason for this suggestion is that I dont want to litter the forum with posts like "Hey so-and-so, I have a question for you". This way I could just click on their screen name instead of making everyone else read a post meant just for one person. Ya know?

  6. Sure, they can opt out.

But by then they may be getting spammed with offers for feminine hygiene or breast enhancement products.

While such spam can be entertaining, I'm not sure how many of us wanna wade thru it every day. ;-]

  7. I think it would be good as well to have an option that sends all replies to your posts to your email. I've seen it on some blogging sites and I like that feature. That way you don't have to keep coming back and searching to see if someone has replied.
  8. I think a good feature would be to allow tracking of all the turnaments youve played how you placed etc....alot of people have come up with their own system to track their progress...one on a website would be cool
  9. I like the idea, but my only fear would be that one day I open my e-mail and find a nasty message from some guy (or girl) I happened to deal a bad beat to the night before. Of course this is provided I actually beat someone.
My question is; Would it be practical to set up a chat area on this site, or is that just too much of and undertaking? I have no experience with this what so ever, so I am just asking.
  10. We're not sure the email access would be a good thing for all the reasons you guys mentioned. We know how much everyone values keeping their email addresses confidential. Chat is a feature we've discussed a few times, but we're not sure of it's practicality at this point. We get quite a bit of traffic on these forums - the thread format is a good way to organize discussion among so many people
