In this day and age what are the odds that someone can do what Tom Dwan has done--specifically turn a $50 buy in into over 3 million from just playing cash games?
-
4.6 to one
-
many people don't know that i stopped playing online and only had FPPs left (didn't go bust, just took money off cause it was getting old).
I turned FPPs into a sunday million seat and that into the bankroll I currently have......
obv slightly less than 3 million dollars, etc. I should be on a podcast though imo for my work in OT. Thanks for your time -
wow bill, why would anyone know that?
-
haha, thats awesome davrow, good work.

full tilt has a cool story on that german kid who won the bracelet in PLO8 this year
he won some super crazy ginormous freeroll for german players and got thrown onto a tv tournament where he went deep, then fulltilt sponsors him. then he wins a bracelet.
so he went from freeroll donk to fulltime red pro and now bracelet winner -
There was this one guy that worked at Burlington Coat Factory (I think) and he ran a few K's into a few hundred K's in like a week, then lost it all back, it made for in interesting storyline.

who do you think will be the first of those players
(durrrr,greenplasitc,snowman,annette) to turn 3,000,000.00 into 50.00 -
Sure wont be me cause I never play cash and I dont have to pay for tourney buy ins anymore haha. If I'd guess I'd say durrr. Not because hes the worst player of them but because he seems to be willing to gamble and take shots more than the rest of us... maybe more likely to tilt... I dunno. I honestly doubt any of us will go brke tho.

I also don't ever see Taylor Caby doing this. Also I'm ignoring external income -- strictly poker bankroll and not the income he generates from his successful company. But Taylor has publicly expressed he's content w/ not grinding the nosebleed games, and he has great control of his emotions and tilt.

Also a few other names that should be added on this list in terms of impressive feats:
David Benefield
Brian Hastings
Cole South
All grinded from low stakes too
Can you tell I'm a Cardrunner?
lol -
So you have never put any money into a poker website Annette ?? Not even as someone else ?? Why not play cash ??
Same for Durrr and all the others that claim they only ever deposited once!! Load of tosh I say!!
I am proud of my deposit history before I get slammed - just learning the hard way !!

I didnt deposit anything when i was between 15-18. After I turned 18 I made a few small deposits just to play tourneys on other sites that didnt do player to player tranfers.
Dunno why I dont enjoy cashgames... They just bore the hell outta me no matter what and what stakes I play. I'll play some heads up or 6 max or plo just to take a break from mtt's if im running really bad in them, but I could NEVER rely on cshgames to make a living. I'd kill myself in the prosess lol. -
Maybe I am simple but what websites let under 18's play poker. I am not trying to stir the pot but everywhere you read about multi accounting, collusion, general cheating etc.

How were you able to play Poker until you turned 18. I guess it was not actually your account online. I have a 16 year old brother in law really wanting to play cards but I advised him against it until he is 18 and it is legal.
The last comment said it was well documented that you made your cash from freerolls, surely if this was before you were 18 then that is as bad as it gets.
I am happy to stand corrected. -
TC apparently jumped into the $20k flips game the other day, lost 5 flips for $100k and left, meh... but who knows how much equity he has in Cardrunners.... which is a stock that I would be shorting by the way if it was public... no offense, just a saturated market, and a product that IMO is self-cannibalizing....

check his blog, he swapped most of his action.

Annette played under her dad's acct or something didn't she? But, the point I'm trying to make is who cares, already been done with, etc. Right or wrong everyone could have done it. Timex is 18 or whatever and he's staking half the universe from his wins ;) (Sickos btw). So sick at what some of these phenoms can do, and where poker could be headed with everyone being friends of top ranked players.

I went from a few thousand bodog points to over 27K in a month, started with those point freerolls, won the 30K, 2nd in the 100K, multiple other final tables and it started my poker bankroll on stars and ftp
-
you must be really good.
-
If you want me to put odds on myself, it would be something like 150,555,000 to 1.
I am continually studying the game, playing my best (at least I think so), reading blogs, books, etc. Yet I still have a negative ROI everywhere (mostly from over a yr. ago when I was truly a donk idiot).
If there is anyone out there who would like to find some leaks in my game please send me a message. I would be honored to take tips from some of the internet's best players in an attempt to move forward and never look back on all of this negativity. Thanks to anyone that does.
* I would prefer to have Annette, Moorman, or SCTrojans, but that obv. will not happen I suppose.
