1. Nikolay Evdakov officially cashed in his ninth 2008 World Series of Poker event on Saturday evening, breaking the previous record of eight WSOP cashes in one year.

Evdakov ended up finishing 158th in the $2k No Limit Hold'em event on Saturday, cashing for a total of $4,216. Evdakov still has five bracelet events left that he can play in to add to his total, including the Main Event which begins on Thursday, July 3rd. The previous record of eight cashes in a single year was shared by four people: Humberto Brenes (2006), Phil Hellmuth Jr. (2006), Chad Brown (2007) and Michael Binger (2007).

In addition to his cash in the $2k NLHE event that he was knocked out of on Saturday, Evdakov has also cashed in the following eight events this year:

-$10k Pot Limit Hold'em World Championship (12th, $49,632)

-$1500 No Limit Hold'em (139th, $4,559)

-$1k No Limit Hold'em w/ Rebuys (48th, $9,839)

-$10k Mixed World Championship (24th, $16,243)

-$5k No Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball w/ Rebuys (13th, $26,025)

-$5k Pot Limit Omaha w/ Rebuys (14th, $61,718)

-$1500 Pot Limit Omaha (30th, $16,849)

2008 marked the first time that Evdakov had ever cashed in a World Series of Poker event.

Sure is making up for lost time.
2. 9 cashes but no final tables lol

but gg, some nice scores there
3. lol 9 cashes not 1 final table.....fold 2 cash much? what a loser
4. This guy ran like Zeus in the $2K on Friday. I played with him for about two hours and I saw him for a total of 5 minutes. He was still alive in the $5K 6-max so he was going back and forth. He was at my table for exactly one hand, flopped middle set, and doubled up before leaving for 90 minutes. He returns and on the first hand raises with 7s-6s and the flop comes 8-9-10. He gets a guy to put it all-in with J-10 and he doubles up again. He then left and I never saw him again until our table broke......mbn.

5. Are the first two responses serious? I cant tell.... If he is a rock then yah that would be a serious leak in his game but STFU until you can afford to play in a single event let alone rag on the guy who just set the record.... If youre being sarcasic i apologize

6. Impressive, but I dont think this is much of an accomplishment. I mean its cool to have a record, but money and a bracelet is what matters. Just my opinion.

Boke

7. Look at the buy-ins, this guy is no joke no matter how many FT he does or doesn’t make. To cash that many times in big buy-in events is very impressive imo. gl

8. Alex Kravchenko = russian Chris Moneymaker. looks like his deep run in the ME last year and stellar performance overall has spurred an increased interest in the game over there.
9. nicolai is bad and he stalls, ship the most cashes in wsop history and still being down on the series, well played champ
10. THIS GUY IS A DISGRACE TO POKER.
He stalls and is shameless about it. It is the most pathetic thing ever.
He constantly is getting the clock called on him and then will call the clock on SOMEONE ELSE who has a genuine decision who has been playing fast the entire time.

He needs to be banned from the WSOP.
Disgrace.

11. ^^^^^^ I didn't know that lol. Thanks for the info. gl

12. looooooooooooooooooooooool sick scores!!!!!!!!!!!
13. f'ing nit
14. not really THAT impressive IMO

sounds to me like he plays to cash, not to win

15. I agree wholeheartedly with BOKE. The record is cool but I guarantee his airfare, 5-weeks of hotels and his 35+ tourney buy-ins are very close to his $203,000 in earnings.

16. There are a bunch of players from Moscow who have done fairly well in the WSOP this year. Are these some of the same people who were playing in the stars 109R?
17. 35+...must be at least 50K and maybe even 75K because of the rebuys...and fwiw, fuck the stallers, my table in the 2K was stalling and colluding, one player kept telling everyone to use the full time every decision and i had to call the floor at least 5 times during the bubble. so frustrating, we played one hand every 10 minutes, ridiculous, stalling in live poker is ghey /rant

18. in mother russia, cards play you.
19. I actually meant 35+ tournaments, not 35K in buy-in's. This guy plays every tournament at noon and at 5:00. I would venture to say that he's well over $100K in buy-in's with the various rebuys and $5K and $10K events.

20. i fucking hate stallers so this guy can go fuck himself.

21. c'mon for real? u guys think he's a total nit and he has 3 final table bubbles? including a cash in the 1500... obv he has to run like god for this to happen

his cashes are also in a variety of games

never played with him nor seen him play, but mad respect for this run (especially after playing a few of these) and i seriously doubt he was folding to cash with a 12th, 13th, and 14th

(did this quickly, sorry if errors)

also, I was kind of kidding about the nit thing. I mean he probably is, I don't know, but it's just the first thing that crosses your mind when you see someone that cashes a bunch but never wins/FTs.
23. Wow- I cant wait to go to the world series, cash a record no. of times and as a reward come back to P5's where people will rip the shyte outta you for no good reason. Great way to reward success you mofo's.

lol I think the whole point people are trying to make is that in poker, what he did doesn't count as success

25. He stalled every hand in the 2k NL when he got to 30k about 100 from the money, he would get raised and was in the bb... he would count ALL his chips, think, count them again, think... then tap the table and say nice hand and throw his hand into the muck. Really classless guy if you ask me, I had a feeling he may he stalling to get the record cash too.

26. Its an accomplishment for sure, you cant stall your way to cashing in a 10% payout 9 times.....I would like to hear if he is happy about the record, or upset he left so much money on the table. I would tell every interviewer that its cool- but I want top three in any tournament im in.
27. Cmac,

I appreciate the math you did to show $117,865 in profits in those 8 tournaments but you do realize that he has played virtually every tournament so far in the series, right?

29. Nikolay Evdakov Extends His Own Record Nikolay Evdakov has made the money -- again. This is his 10th cash at this year's World Series of Poker, extending a record he set just two days ago. Prior to this year, the record of eight cashes in a single year was shared by four people: Humberto Brenes, Phil Hellmuth, Chad Brown, and Michael Binger. Evdakov has not yet made a final table at this year's WSOP. He's going to need to chip up quickly if he expects to do it in this event.
30.
Eugene Katchalov Eliminated in 76th ($2,301)

Another epic accomplishment.......
