What is the deal with stars not allowing deals at the final table of their double shootouts and $33 rebuy tourneys? I'm assuming they're not allowed at the supersatelite, but I'm not sure since I didn't see it last week.
Making deals at FTs at Stars is a tradition and one that I think makes them one of the best sites to play. If someone is short stacked and offered $$$ why shouldn't he be allowed to take it if the players aggree? Or if a player doesn't have a seat but is HU against a player that does they should be alllowed to work something out.
What do you guys think about the change this year? -
the reason (I think) that deals are not allowed here is simply because stars can only distribute money already in the prize pool. The deal you are talking about requires someone to pay the other person from their own pocket to get the opponent to lose out. Not sure if that is clear.
Basically, the seats are not $T/$W money until someone has won it (and then only if they have more than one). Therefore, a seat cannot be divided into two and chopped up. So if two people are heads up for a seat, the deal would have to include money that is not already in the prize pool going to one person and the seat going to the other.---Unfortunately, sites can't make a deal with money that isn't in the prize pool.
Hope that makes sense.

Hey thanks for the response. Deals were made on these all the time last year. I chopped one and received 5K W$. They must of just changed the policy too, because I watched a final table chop the first day they ran a super satelite, They paid four seats and everyone gave a little cash based on chip counts to buy the 5th place guy out.
As far as not being able to transfer or make deals because money is not in the prizepool: I do agree the deals are easier if a person has already won a seat and therefore stars can transfer W$ based on the agreed deal or if you use the 1K from the prize package. Sometimes last year if someone was really out chipped HU in a double shootout they would agree to take the 1K cash that was part of the prize pool. 1K is certainly better than $160 for second and the chip leader would agree because anything can happen.
If there are 7 seats say in a supersatelite then there is 7K cash available if all aggree to transfer some $ to the bubble to end it. These deals happen in brick n mortar casinos all the time and they should be allowed to happen online because it is your money your playing with, the house has taken their vig and should facilitate deals as a courtesy if they are able to. IMO. -
Just saw this POST, sorry
i think its TOTAL BS
Last year in PCA DS i cut FT deals twice and everyone got W$ as i was credited with the win and PS distributed W$
I dont know if they want less work for their support staff, want as many different people as possible to win seats, or want to discourage better players from FTing many times and constantly building their bankroll of W$ by chopping when they get 3 handed or HU to avoid risk of $11k vs $165
whatever the reason is, it sucks
BTW: to FURTHER rant, wtf is the deal with stars NOT allowing use of W$ for WSOP circuit events!? I was told by PS staff to check the website for allowable usage of W$....basically there is only ONE tourney i canuse it for currently, Foxwoods...THATS IT -
ya me 2, because i got an entry i dont feel like playing a 5500$ hu match
im definately all about the chop now -
good point Randers,
you can make a save privately but ONLY if you really trust or know the other player. I made a deal heads up on party and the guy never transfered his share, even though the chat logs stated the deal, they did not support the private deal and said it was between the players.
Thanks to both isuck123 & randers for responding to this older post. I thought everyone was fine with the fact that the abiltity to cut deals and rack up some W$ has been taken away from us this year....
Now you have to win your second seat the same way you one your first and "play to win!" LOL.... -
isuck123:
well then, I'll see you in Foxwoods! I just won my seat last night at Foxwoods. It's a great event. PM me if you need info on it or the area if you decide to go.
They should allow you to use your W$ -which is $$$ YOUR $$$ (that they are holding for you in a bank account earning interest that you'll never see) however da faq you want!!!!
