  1. Im sure there are many people on this site that want to wait till Tuesday night to find out what happens today at the final table of the 2010 Main Event. PLEASE dont put any reuslts in thread titles. Allow those of us who want to wait the ability to still read P5's without seeing any results on the main page. Please put spoiler alert or something so I (we) dont click it and if there is going to be an article about it on the main page, please dont say the winner in the title or that first paragraph that serves as a preview. Thanks.
  2. i agree
  3. + 1
  4. i mean, its a poker discussion website. i agree ppl shouldnt put results in titles but if you rly care that much dont check the site for a few days

this. sure it would b nice but someone will slip up. if u want to wait till tuesday, dnot watch espn, dont come on poker forums and dont open ur twitter or facebook. good luck with that.
  6. honestly i'm all about courtesy as often as possible here, great place, great opportunites on this site etc. but if you want poker players to not talk about poker so you can feel excited watching a watered down broadcast that shows no real poker, listen to foutight or gtfo. POKER forum

Is it really that unreasonable to not put the winner in the thread title?

  8. um we thrive on discussing poker, crazy lifechanging stuff is going to happen in the poker world today and our community will most def. discuss it as it happens. being poker players we browse this forum while multi-tabling, rockin out to tunes etc. and we need thread titles so we can avoid stuff like this mid grind.

no sympathy imo, commen sense says if i wanna be kept out of the pokernews loop, i dont chill where poker news is discussed religiously

  9. Well, if its like that, I guess Im gonna have to stream it to be part of the crazy life changing discussion.

  10. discussion of life changing events, prob wont change our lives much, don't twist my words breh :)

  11. So the game you love and play regularly. Your gonna wait to see the "big hands" that ESPN plays and who wins on your ESPN broadcast? Seem absurd. Im gonna probably listen to every second of the broadcast either on espn3 or bluff. This is the game you love and enjoy, embrace the dynamics of the table, the hands they wont show and other things you'll never see on eSPN.

but whateves with what u decide

  12. any plans for post 5K? i like the way you put it

  15. :) does it hurt? does for me...

  16. I dont think think it would be all that hard to just make an official ME Final Table thread and just leave all the discussion and updates in that one thread. Problem solved. You pd guys could learn a thing or two from OT!
  17. You live in a world of instant information transmission on a global scale. If you want to watch a non-poker version of the show 80 hours after the actual event starts, rather than telling all the poker players to shut up and respect your right to not know, your best bet is to avoid sources of public information which will give that information. Don't watch TV, or open any news sites, or ESPN, or certainly not a poker forum, until the show is over Tuesday night and you're good to go. Probably don't play poker until then either, because people WILL be talking about it in chat.
  18. Heh, this reminds me of the Episode of How I Met Your Mother where they all tried to avoid finding out who won the Superbowl for the entire day after the Superbowl just so they can all get together to watch a re-run of it without being surprised at the winner.

It's going to be tough to not find out who won unless you completely cut yourself off from all things poker-related for a few days.

If there are names in the titles, the mods will move the thread into the consolidated thread here.

We'll have an article up on the front page once today's action has concluded and once a champion is named since there are a significant amount of readers who will be interested in knowing the outcome/hearing from the winner ahead of the telecast. We also may have exclusive interview content to publish immediately after the event, so the winner's name & picture will likely be on the front page. It's going to be plastered all over the internet within minutes regardless.

Guys- there IS an official thread.

Speaking for myself (not as the mod) I think anyone discussing results and not using that thread is a tool and disrespecting others.

That said, if it will kill you to not find out till tuesday, stay off P5 or any media whatsoever.

The middle ground is for for people wanting to talk about results to have the courtesy to at least title a thread with *spoiler alert* or to stay in the official thread.

    - my 2 cents.

guess we should put *official* in that thread title...

  23. CADA WON
  24. Nice thread, now if you just would have mentioned it to Pocketfives so they didn't stamp it on the home page.

    Thx P5
