Is this a normal call or did he make a bad call?

    This hand is from 75$ Full Tilt double stack tourney. Roach_1 limps in UTG +1 all folds to me on button with AQoff. I think about he could be limping with a monster hoping to trap someone but not likely because I saw him play AA strong in early position about 25 hands earlier in the tourney. Then I think hes most likely on a small pair like 44 55 66 hoping to see a cheap flop and hit a set. I think if I shove he should lay down a small pair only having 1600 invested. Folds over to Roach_1 and he instacalls 14k with only 1600 invested so I think he surely has a big pair or AK. Roach_1 flips over A9clubs and Im happy as hell to see that after the instacall.
