So, i've been playing on FTP since February. I am from Vegas, have always been from here, and my account has always said that. Since yesterday though, whenever I sign on, I get the "Too Bad WA players" pop up, and whenever I try to register for anything, it says i'm not permitted. I've emailed like 4 times, including attaching my ID, to support and the special Washington support email, with of course, no response. Was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else that is not from Washington?

Ugh gl op that sucks. As forementioned im sure ftp will get back to you before year's end... maybe.

Try going to here:
http://www.ip2location.com/
Click on the Find Location button on the right side (within Live Product Demo box). It should show a page of information indicating where it thinks your ip address is located. It also shows what/who your ISP is on other info that may be of assistance to you in working with FTP to resolve your issues. -
I honestly do not know much about this kind of stuff. I have Clear for my internet provider.
Oh wow!! I did this and it does say "region Washington". Well this is just wonderful! I'm not a high stakes player, and only really play for fun. This might not even be worth fighting, but thank you forum!!Originally Posted by BudmansCom

I am actually very happy with their service here in town. I haven't really had any service issues at all. However, I just asked them about switching my IP region and they said it would be an extra $10 per month to make my IP "static". I guess whatever it is right now, (they told me what it was called, just can't remember), the region is random. I think that's a little ridiculous, so I passed on that option! We will see how this ends up!

keep us posted killer.

Well, after a few emails back and forth, including me sending a copy of the deed to my house, which was purchased 10 years ago, a copy of my work license for the state of nevada and papers showing my child was born here a few months ago and a copy of my ID, FTP will not let me play. They tell me that my ISP needs to change my IP if I want to play. I explained to them that they want to charge me $10 a month to do that, and I just don't think it's fair I should have to pay that, as I am not living in a region that is banned from their site and that I have shown plenty of proof that I am a Nevada resident. They won't budge. As I am not a high stakes or high volume player, I don't have the motivation to continue this fight with them or my ISP. I can play for recreation on UB or stars. I did want to update the forum however, on what has been going on. Good luck to any of you that is experiencing the same issue.

So I started a thread a week or so ago about how I live in Vegas, use Clear as my ISP, and FTP wouldn't let me play because they use a WA region. FTP wouldn't budge, and Clear wanted to charge me $10 per month for a static IP. Well today, I was out and about, fired up my netbook with my Clear USB Modem, and viola! FTP works fine if I use my broadband thingy, just won't work from my home modem. Just thought this was interesting and thought maybe this could be a work around for others as well.

I'd be calling my ISP and threaten to switch to another internet provider if they don't fix this for free. Generally that gets their asses in gear.

Contact your ISP, looks like your IP might be based in Washington for some reason.. There was a thread about this last week, if I can find it will do the merge.. The bottom line there was their ISP wanted an extra $10 to change their IP to an Oregon one.. Hopefully your ISP isn't as hungry for money.. He also found if he used mobile broadband the issue went away..

Edit: I found the thread, merged it.. Looks like you might have a dynamic IP that changes from time to time (I am not an IP guru, but think this is probably why you sometimes have Oregon and sometimes Washington).. GL sorting this out.. -
Got the same message a couple days ago. Full Tilt said to contact my ISP to have them change my geo ip. Called Qwest up, and they said there was nothing they could do. And that ip2location program said my region was Portland, Oregon. Sigh GG FT

So early when FTP would not let me play, I was at work. stars allowed me to play on that same work wireless tho.
Now I am at home on my own wireless and it works just fine. Pretty stupid imo.
Anyways here is the email FTP sent back to me.
Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker Support.
Due to recent legislation changes in Washington State, some players in the surrounding areas have been affected by service restriction.
This is due to the Geo-IP currently in use by your Internet Service Provider. Your Geo-IP holds the information that determines where our gaming platform will define as your geographical location and unfortunately your current Geo-IP is being identified as Washington State.
Your Geo-IP address is assigned solely by your Internet Service Provider and only they have the authority to modify this.
We understand that this is very inconvenient but unfortunately Full Tilt Poker have no control over your advertised Geo-IP.
As such; we strongly suggest contacting your Internet Service Provider and requesting that your Geo-IP be changed to reflect your true location. If this is not possible, the only other suggestion we can offer would be contacting an alternative Internet Service Provider.
Thank you for your understanding.
Regards,
Full Tilt Poker Support -

I begin my session by loading up around 10 MTT SNGS when I began having disconnect issues. Even though I have never had disconnect issues before from this IP I reset my router to see if the problem could be fixed on my end. When my router resets I reconnected to Full Tilt and instantly received a message that I was blocked from real money games because I am in Washington. However I am currently watching my blinds be posted and my money wasted from my bedroom in Oregon. I sent an email to Full Tilt but what are the odds I see a refund from this? I'm pretty frustrated right now obviously.

So I tried logging on and off from Full Tilt several times for the past hour or so and finally I log on and it doesn't tell me I'm blocked and of course there is one table left and I have 3 bb's.

I am having the same problem with Clear...... Hopefully this gets resolved...

Anybody else in Vegas have this same problem with the IP being in Washington? Just wondering because I might be moving there soon.

After the last update, I am now able to play. Not sure if it was the update or that they maybe just finally got to my individual case. In either case, I have no issues now, except for that I still suck!
