You just don't understand matt. There's a system here

1) Todd gets riled up
2) Todd makes offensive and/or insulting comment
3) Everyone jumps on todd
4) Todd cannot believe the uproar, as he was obviously kidding when he made those offensive and/or insulting coments
5) Todd says he doesn't want to post at this site because of the shit he gets for the comments he was "kidding" about
6) Todd points out that his decline in posts is directly related to his drop in the rankings

Wait a few weeks and repeat

Fine If you dont care that a highly respected member of this community is bad mouthing it and directing people to other sites then I dont care either. Excuse me. Some of you people amaze me. And no I do not have anything to gain from this post. I do not have a competing training site or anything like that.

I agree with mattg about the Todd thing. He does come off as arrogant, and does make some very mean comments(supposed sarcasm). However, I do have to agree, you brag quite a bit, which I dont mind..but you do. Also, I have heard some great things about Todd as well. I have heard how he would go out of his way to help people out, especially with coaching. hmm, I am not taking anyones side, but he has said a few shitty things...then again, you are the center of alot of drama so...whatever

I respect you a lot JJ, but how is this a constructive argument or discussion? He's no longer a "respected member of this community" Matt, because of pointless discussions like these. Why fill up this fourm with pointless flame posts? This is just my opinion. Just an attention lure if you ask me. Who cares. You play poker, why let harmless comments affect you like it does. Im sure he wasn't even directing comments toward you, unless you provoked them. Get over it. And you wonder why he speaks negatively about this forum. I would too.

I had the opportunity to play Todd heads up in a STS at the NE poker Classic at Foxwoods. Todd ran the table from the start, and I was completely cold decked. I had about 300 left in chips. Todd offered me my $500 back, which I had declined. That, in itself, tells you what kind of guy he is. Long story short, I ended up even with him after a nice run. I offered him a chop. The point is that Todd is a great player, and maybe he is cocky and has a sarcastic sense of humor, which, IMO, is harmless. It looks to me that he has a great life as a result of poker, something most of us are striving to achieve. IMO, the problem with posts in general, is no one can hear you tone of voice and sometimes take things out of context. As far as him thinking he is Gods gift to poker, I think that is a great attitude to have when you sit down at any table.

Most people on this site flame him either out of jealousy or just the typical stupidity that seems to be the focus of some posts here. If I was him, I wouldn't post here either. I'm sure if you asked Bax or Sheets, who know him much better than I do, they would say the same thing.

I know that he has always answered any question I have asked, whether it is about strategy or how he handles a slide.

Todd doesn't feel the need to address a problem, because he really doesn't care about people knocking him. When you're self confident and unshakeable, you're thrust into the limelight whether you like it or not.

Not that he needs anyone to qualify him but I'll say it anyway: from my experiences, Todd has been nothing but helpful and kind. I not only have respect for his game, but for him as a person as well (which at the end of the day is so much more important than the former).

If people worried about their own playing and results more, conversations like this wouldn't happen. Gotta love drama queens creating controversy though. Honestly; grow up.

When I first started hitting the forums, I thought Todd to be an arrogant SOB that was so caught up in his fancy little poker school and all the kiss asses that would post and say "THANKS TO RPT, I WON EIGHTY BILLION DOLLARS, woo!" STFU, I don't care. I would make snide comments here and there about him, I didn't give two shits if he was ranked or not, I thought he was an asshole.

Then I actually spent an hour listening to him give a lesson, and spent the next hour or so BSing with him. He has a genuine love for teaching. There are some people that are poker geniuses but couldn't teach you the difference between taller and shorter, but he has a knack for teaching. He loves RPT, and he makes money doing it. To top it off, it works. How many people do you know that hate what they do for a living? Todd loves what he does, and I think that's part of the jealousy people have for him.

Besides being a good teacher, he's a real stand up guy. He actively listens, is a gentleman, and can take a joke...
