With the recent revealing of the nonexistant 46sooted, is the actions of what Mr. Darvin Hamm considered cheating? Simply say yes or no.
Some one keep tally.
I say yes, even though he didnt enter same tournaments , he still admitted to playing on 2 different accounts. So my answer is YES.
Please one vote per person. Alter-egos dont count.
EDIT - Let me make myself clear by saying that I have no real problem with the real darvinham, do I think it is cheating = yea, do I think money should be confiscated = no, Do i still repect he/she's game = yes. He really did not do anything very harmful and never entered 2 accounts into 1 tourney, therefore this obviously got blown totally out of proportion. I still think he is scum though. Brilliant = maybe, scum = absolutely.

No
He did not multi-account, just simply played on a different name. -
Cheating? No.
Against the site's terms of service? Yes. -
Disgraceful...He is a con, POS ect.
-
You got hustled! Simple as that. Get over it.
-
no
-
yes
-
I say yes only because he used this 2nd identity to build relationships with some really sick players and learn how to better his already pretty good game.
-
cheating.....no
unethical......yes
either way it does not really matter....there is not much anyone here can do to make him more fucked up than he already is...sofcknobv he was one of Gods mistakes.... -
I guess the answer would have to be yes though i don't entirely aghree with it. You are not allowed to have more than one account, yet people play on each other's accounts all the time.
So what's the difference here if he's not entering them in the same tourney?
I don't think he should be punished for it because he was so careful not to multi-account in same tourneys. -
I say yes, even though he didnt enter same tournaments , he still admitted to playing on 2 different accounts. So my answer is YES.
Well if playing on two different accounts= cheating than yes he is a cheater..
I play on two accounts right now. Im 1/10000th the player these guys are but when in my own stupidity I self excluded myself from my stars account for 6 months, my friend lets me play on his when he doesnt. Stars even sent him an email about it saying that we were the same person and werent allowed to have two accounts.. We both contacted Stars and told them and that was it. Issue resolved.. So according to them. Playing on two accounts does NOT equal multi-accounting.. Therefore.. Not cheating..
So in short... No. -
I agree w/sick...ban the con immed! FU darvin or whoever your blackass is.
-
i feel sick for those guys who thought 46 was a girl :D

I kind of agree with you, tough i understand the difference.
The difference is that one guy is behind both Darvin Ham and 46s, where as almost all poker players occassional;y play on a friend's account. i think very very few top ranked players can say they have never played a ahnd on any other account besides their own. There was even a thread about why buying seats isn't against the rules, though its obviously someone else playing oj a second account which they bought for the tourney.
I think multi-accounting one tounrey is by far a bigger issue and clear cut cheating, where as this is simply using a different alias. Seriously, Many top pros have even said things to the extent of "well, i play on many accounts where people don't know who i am..." etc. so their image does not preceed them. -
Depends what your deftinition of cheating means.
deceptive yes
funny yes
gay yes (aim convos)

Seems like cheating. However I emailed stars when my wife wanted an account and they told me it was OK. They said I should play on my account and she should play hers, but thats the rub. They just cant know whos playing what. One email to stars saying his mom only plays the 4-6 suited account and there is NOTHING they can do.
Cheated = YES
Punishable = NO
