  3. Are you asking for advice or did you mean to post in Bad Beats? First hand, you had no business calling with that crap. Second hand, unfortunate, but you were vulnerable to all kinds of draws.
  4. 1st hand - Allreds made a bad call. Put a note on him about overplaying overpairs and calling down on non-nut flush draws. I wouldn't change how you played it.

2nd Hand - This one's more tricky. Julma made a pot sized C+ bet and flat called a pot sized raise. If he had the nuts, one would have thought he'd raise here to make anyone pay for a flush draw. But he flats it and checks the turn after you've made three pair. So now you can bet or check, each with it's advantages.

Betting 1/2-2/3 of the pot has some advantages. If you get repopped, you can lay it down with fair confidence that he made the nut straight. Despite the many outs you have for second nut flushes, Broadway, and Full houses, I think I might still lay it down to a repop. The problem is if you out draw him, you still don't have the nuts. Were I him and I had just made my set of Kings, I'd probably be playing it the same way.

The advantages of checking is giving yourself a chance to make a better hand and keeping the pot small. The disadvantage is it doesn't get you any more information and if you don't improve you might have a tough decision to make on the river.

On the river: You still have second nuts vs the preflop raiser. AQxx is most definitely in his range and he's betting full pot at you. A glance at his stack size will also tell you something. He either bought in for the full amount and more than doubled it up, or he bought in for less and increased it by 3-5x. So he's probably decent and not making this bet with anything but the nuts. I think I would fold this spot and try to induce a show for cheap information.

In conclusion, I'd bet the turn for information and reevaluate based on my opponents actions.
  5. I meant to post here, I'm new to omaha I don't really consider them badbeats but I'm not familiar with how to bet and when to lay down just yet

  6. Also, I know the first hand was awful to play but im at the lowest stakes and I'm trying to see as many flops as possible for experience in different situations. Not sure if thats a dumb idea or a good idea but most pots have been family pots for cheap unless i raise preflop with what i assume is a good hand

  7. I saw you response that you are new and want to see a lot of flops.

That's not a good way to start. But it's is expensive. You develope many bad habits when you play that way.

on the [8d 7c 2c 8h] hand I have to agree that this should be folded with out much thought pre-flop.

You can watch how the game is played and try and win some hands with patients.

Play hands the have 4 cards working together. There are many sites on the internet and some in P5's archieves that can help you learn about omaha. Most internet sites also have basic tutoriaqls on the games on their sties. You need to study thse also and talk to someone that plays the games on a regular basis, not someone who hears it's a fun game to play.
  8. You start with a very good hand here.

Dealt to Ryan Olsen [Th Qd Js 9d]
*** FLOP *** [Kd Jh Td]

On this hand, you have hit a pretty big hand. Not because you hit your str8 (your str8 is second best).

You have outs to redraw on any player that has an [AQ] and presently has the nuts.
    Re-draws:
Your outs are [A] to tie for the [A] high str8.
You have outs to diamond flush.
You also floped 2 pair [JJTT] and have outs to make a fullhouse.

Pot Limit Omaha is about having re-draws to improve. You have a hand that should be willing to bet and raise with. You have a lot of equity in this situation. It doesn't mean you'll win everytime, but you should win more than you loose.

Even though, you don't have the better hand, you opponent doesn't have any way to improve on his str8.

You are a slight favorite to improve and win this hand.
  9. Listen to MYBLUEDOG. Sorry if I was rough on you. Be more selective about starting hands you play and you'll be a winning player more quickly.
