    Been trying O/8 with some success. But I am lost on this hand.

    Why isn't an Ace low better than the winning low?

    Am I missing something? Or just not educated enough on O/8?

    Someone please educate me.

    When comparing lows you count from the highest card down. In this hand, 7 low beats your 8 low.

    Your low hand is an A 2 3 7 8.. Dhiggin's low is a 2 3 4 6 7.

    An A 3 4 5 7 beats an A 2 3 4 8 - a "seven" low beats an "eight" low, a "six" low beats a "seven" low, and so on. :( Always learn hand rankings before playing a game for real money. har har.

    The 3 and 2 counterfeited your solid hand. As boozhwaa said, you only had 8 low.

    TY. I suck. But ROI is very good at O/8(only 60 or so sng's). So I guess I should learn it lol

    I had a hard time with this when I first started playing also. I started O hi/lo playing with old men that had an average age of 65. And they would practically scream at you if you called your low hand wrong.

    The best way to determine your low hand, well... the correct way, is to count from the highest card.

    If the board is 876JK, a 42 low beats a A5 low. 87642 versus a 8765A.
