Got this mail from stars today:
Hello Annette,
We recently received multiple reports regarding an agreement you made in
chat with 'RiverBoom' in tournament 44846409. It was surprising and
disappointing to find that the reports were accurate. I say surprising
because it is rare to find such rule violations in the higher buy-in
events. It was disappointing because we expect exemplary behaviour from
top tier, well known players like yourself.
At issue is the agreement that you and 'RiverBoom' would both go all-in on
the next hand when you were in the big blind. The hand histories,
including chat, are copied below. They are also attached as a text file
in case your email reader truncates the email.
Such agreements violate tournament rule # 9 which states in part...
"Poker is an individual (not a team) game. Any action or chat intended to
help another player is unethical and is prohibited."
This is further reinforced in one of the examples on the prohibited
tournament chat examples web page.

Example #3 states in part... "Poker is an individual game, not a team
sport. Players may not act as a group in any way, nor may a player even
suggest or mention such an idea.".
The proposed action in tournament 44846409 would leave either you or
RiverBoom with the 2nd largest stack at the table, twice as large as any
player with a smaller stack. I don't need to explain to you why this is
unfair to the shorter stacks.
In addition, the chat in game# 8904682182 violates tournament rule #16
which clear states:
"Players, whether in the hand or not, may not discuss the hands until the

The most disturbing part is that most likely it was a bunch of haters on P5s that read the HH and reported you.
If thats not the case then it was some silent railers that have nothing else better to do than cause trouble for fun. (as in the case with Below and his aids comment) That is why there should be some sort of reverse ignore feature, where seated players could make their chat at the table invisible to railers. -

I agree with stars 100 % and suggest that you view the week suspension as only a slap on the wrist and a warning to stop.

</span>Who cares who reported it, and how can that be the most disturbing part? I'm not saying it was a horrific act, but it is breaking the rules none-the-less. Players at that table were going to be at a huge disadvatage, because one of the 2 all in blind players would have chips essentially dumped to them, giving them a nice big stack. I don't see how you can look at that and be most frustrated by someone reporting it.
It's not anything against annette, because I'm sure she is a very nice person, but she probably unknowingly broke the rules, and I'm glad that stars took appropriate action. -

But tfrom what I see this is a case of trying to chip dump to a specific person which is clearly wrong. It;s nice to see stars staking a stance of this although I think a week ban is a little much for a first offence.
The sad thing is many players will read this and not even realize why its wrong. This is very commonplace so maybe this will start to lead to a crack down on it.

Stars support is wrong. This happens every day countless times a day. They should not be able to randomly pick and choose when they enforce the law. I would be more than happy for them to have as party of the welcome announcement: "The rules on PokerStars will now be followed, all in blinds will no longer be allowed." But for them to simply wake up one day, and only enforce it selectively does not make sense.
I do however, like that they will be enforcing this rule, and I wonder how it will affect rebuy tourneys on the site. -

Stars didnt do anything before cause no one made a big deal of it, and they arent watching every rebuy tourney chat. Obviously someone reported this. If it had been reported about a different player a month ago, I m sure the same would have happened.

Shaky, who gives a crap who reported it? The bottom line is that she did something that was against the rules and is being punished for it. I would expect that anyone that sees wrongdoing should report it no matter who the offender is. That's how the integrity of the game will be kept intact.

Ari, I think its a matter of visibility. The other times this happens, it probably doesn't get reported to support because people of annette's popularity aren't involved. I'm sure that if other cases were reported, they would probably enforce the rule in those as well.... at least i hope so.

I literally have not played a rebuy where someone hasnt gone all in blind. In fact, back in the day, when I was a rebuy maniac, I was involved a number of times. I can recall, being @ the same table as someone else in 2 tourneis, and asking them if they wanted to go all in blind in the chat of the non-rebuy tourney. (but pushing in the rebuy) We agreed, and we went all in blind @ the rebuy table w/o the table knowing it was blind.
That is clearly a violation, but obv stars support did nothing. The fact that someone did or did not report the incident, should not be the arbiter of whether there is a punishment. A warning would certainly suffice.
It's not like Stars doesnt post on p5's and 2+2, they simply coulda made a post stating that the old protocol of endless all in blinds would no longer be tolerated.
I say this all from the point of view of someone that feels that all in blinds were negatively effecting my equity. -

Randers - You are exactly correct that this happens 100's of times a day and at all levels.
It is irratating and and is becoming more and more prevelant in the game.
It is unfortunate that this happened to Annette but it sends a message to all players that this behavior will not be tollerated.
My guess is that had this happened to a lesser or unkown player they would have gotten off with a warning and Stars is making an Example out of Annette. -

I don't think stars cares about players going all in every hand.
They only care about two or more players asking to go all in blind before a hand is dealt.
