    As a tournament poker player, would you rather have one montrous tournament win for millions and millions followed by years of never winning or cashing again or would you prefer a career of being a consistant winner without ever getting that huge score?

    I'd rather hit big then disappear, playing tournament poker is a grind. I'd like to take my huge score, invest it wisely then play more golf, travel and hang out with my friends. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy playing poker, but playing it day in and day out and following the tournament trail doesn't sound very enjoyable to me.

    One hit wonder.

    You make the big score, bank on endorsements and such. You may get to play basically for free in tournaments the rest of your life, and plus you will have the joys of traveling, golfing, doing whatever the hell you feel like.

    i'm also in the one big score boat. honestly, i await the day a player wins the main event for 10 mill and never plays poker again. could it be done?

    If its never play in a big tourny again i think i could do it. If the never playing again includes not playing in random home games with friends here and there, no way i dont think it can be done.

    I'd take that monstrous win, situate my family then start a littany of businesses treating poker as a hobby from then until I reach the billy boys club. Then I'd play the 4,000 / 8,000 game at the Bellagio till I die.
