  1. Hey guys. My name is Alex, and i've been a long time browser and only posted stupid things when i was upset about a bad beat or something. Well, I've decided to change that this year. I want to be more active in this message board as i hope one day my opinion will be valued and can get opinions from some of the great minds on this site. I recently have gotten much more serious about poker. I have been a winning player, but been known to tilt away some of my winnings. This is foolish and I've been trying very hard to maintain bankroll requirements and not play badly when i'm upset. I truely believe I have what it takes to be a top player and if i focus and work real hard i can do it (i know a lot of people say this and believe it, but i really do, but maybe i'm just another schmuck, but i don't think i am haha). I've chatted it up with some of the top players on this site trying to pick their minds and get anything I can possibly learn from them. I've read several books, and have devoted lots and lots and lots of time to playing all types of poker to better enhance my skills. I'm rambling, back to the point of my post. I am going to graduate from Rutgers University in May with a degree in finance. Doesn't sound to interesting does it? Well it isn't, and work doesn't excite me. My plan is to play (while still getting all my work done to get through this semester WELL) to try and someday make it that playing poker full time would make more sense then doing bullshit work in a cubicle making, in my opinion, pennies. I might start a blog or something to track my progress in case anyone is interested. I know a sound like a dreamer, a dumb stupid college kid, but i want to prove everyone wrong and prove to myself that i can do this. Wish me luck all. Also, this might sound corny, I'm looking for some poker buddies. See, a lot of my friends play poker, and its great to bullshit with the regarding strategies and odds and what not, but they aren't willing to take it to the next level like i am. They don't strive to learn and improve, and I feel i've drained any good information left, i "know" everything else y'know. I would obviously love to have a mentor, but I know those cost money and I'm not willing to pay for instruction (I feel my own feedback can improve that persons game as well). This is why I want poker buddies. Someone to bullshit and hopefully learn from. Maybe meet up at a casino tourney and own the crowd. Root for each other when we make it to a final table. Give advise, that sort of thing. Hit me up on aim if you want to chat: str8upthugginyo (its an inside joke). Sorry for the long post, just venting cause I'm on vacation and can't play and want to really badly haha. See ya all on the boards.

  3. i think if you stare at it long enough you will see Mike Matusow,,
  4. good luck ...i'm also trying to make a strong effort to improve in my last semester of college (although i don't plan on becoming a full-time player) ... what stakes do you mainly play? how many hours? etc
