I've been reading a few posts here in PD the last couple of days and I have been thinking about it a lot lately so I decided to create a thread here in PD asking Pro's who play both online and live MTT's for a living.
What I have noticed is that a lot of players say that when they play online, they have several MTT's going on at once and really don't pay attention to what is going on in the beginning.
This doesn't make sense to me. Sure, at a live event, you're at one table and focused on how everyone is playing, even in the beginning, so, wouldn't it be prudent to pay more attention in the early stages of an online MTT and cut down on how many MTT's you have going on at the same time so that you dont pass up +ev situations to chip up?
Now, I know a lot of you have said that volume is the key to being profitable online. I also have heard a lot in PD say that Menlo doesn't play near as much volume as most online pro's do but yet his results are awesome.
So, does this mean since he doesn't play near as much volume and doesn't have as many MTT's going on at once, that he is focusing more on the events he plays online in and in doing so, his results are better? If this is the case, why don't more online MTT pro's do this? -

thats not the reason menlo is sick and i agree with you with low limit players but many high limit players know each other already so when menlo plays just on sundays and saturdays in the 100r and 215r, its all big players, he knows them all anyway..this is an interesting question i dont really know the answer to though
