I've been playing for about 3 years now and am considering the move to an Apple 17" laptop for screen size and battery life. I've also had it with Window's crashing while I'm playing and the BSoD (blue screens of death). I'm usually on UB, FTP and PS. I see that all three sites have MAC downloads and I only play Hold Em MTTs. I typically play between 6-12 tables at a time. Are there any minor/major issues I should be aware of if I decide to move to an Apple? Any insight from existing users would be helpful.

I have a 17" macbook. Definitely a good move. Those sites all run fine. The only drawback would be using a HUD. A lot of them are not mac friendly so you would have to run parallels or something else to use them.

Im on a 15" macbook pro and i dont play on ub but for ps and ftp I have had no problems playing the same amount of tables. I don't like playing that many because with more than 4-6 tiling them sucks but cascading works then. idk if you use any hud but check to make sure if you do that its supported by mac i know a few dont (havent checked recently for any updates tho) macs r cool

thx gm1885, appreciate the quick feedback.
thx sdnuol... when you say "...more than 4 - 6 tiling them sucks...", I only tile and will have up to 12 at time that way. I assume it's the same with MAC as with a PC correct? You're just talking about a matter of preference between tiling and cascading, correct? -
Have a MacBook, works well w/ all 3 sites. Poker Copilot is a pretty good hud for Macs.

i have a mac book pro 15" as well as a Mac Pro
ftp and stars run great (cant speak on ub, ap)... if u need a hud, pokertracker3 has a mac version that works great but its a bit of a processor hog... combined with ftp which is another processor hog so if you have a lot of tables up things can bog down a little on my mac book pro (the mac pro things are fine)... no crashes but things just move a little slower, it helps if u turn animation off and kill the avatars tho
and you will def want to download and install wine (its free) so you can run pokerstove without having to install windows -
As a heart attack. I was so surprised when I first saw it that I thought I did something screwy and wrote UB support about it.
I didn't know the Mac interface also has a 3-table limit. Can't play up-to-20 like you can on a PC.
