So I played in my first major today. Bodog 100K
747 players 63 pay.
We are down to 76.
I have about $9700 in chips. Small stack is $3500. Ave = 19K
Blinds are 800/1600
I am UTG with 66 I shove. Get called by BB with TT gg me.
Question is..Did I have to make that move or was I impatient?
From my experience I think it was a move needed to be made, but am always open to advice and critisism. Hence why Im asking.. ty all.

tip: i'd fold and get in the money 1st
from 76 left you're really not trying to win the tourny from there.
people tend to play much looser once you're ITM so I would've waited for a better spot
and yes bad move -
In most cases I'd shove there, depending on the stacks on the table and the level of play I may make it around 3800 and shove any flop except for a set if I get cold called or not fold if I get moved all in pre. If you get a skiddish player if you make the smaller bet and an ace flops you may be able to get them off 77-JJ which may cold call you pre thinking you are very strong with the smallish bet pre. I'm shoving about 80 pct of the time though.

why only a better hand calls?

Im a poker player Dudebud..I play to win. But your opinion is appreciated. Did like Schmenx thoughts a lot. Ty to all so far.

u have less than 5 bbs i think its pretty standard that you shove your gonna have to get lucky if ur up against a better hand or in a coinflip i mean if your looking to get it in as a clear favorite u shouldnt have let ur stack get down to 9800
-
You should be shoving almost any two cards there. I would have done so way before getting down that low. You do not want to fold to cash. I can only assume that poster is joking.

well since u asked nicely i guess i can take my time out to answer since i am well u kno an ONLINE MFING PRO!!!!
yes id shove there
fight the world -
ur a poker player u play to win is understatement, look at ur results.
if u play "pro" ROI is very important, so folding ITM here is not bad at all, considering how much play loosens up when u get ITM. -
<<<< Not a Pro...but you've got a little over 5x the BB, getting down this low at this point, you're in Shove Mode. Range of hands I'd shove with 5x BB range from A-J to any pocket pair.
Granted you are close to money, and if ur playing to cash...maybe fold and wait for a better spot....but like you said...you play to win. Shoving here is the play IMO. -
does the bodog 100k even count as a major....hahah jk
standard push there just UL -

Raise everything but your $1(looks REAL strong), then accidentally misclick fold, hate life/poker etc then cry as your finish 65th

Standard play, ul

Celitic, Minimum raise knocks me down to $6600 (est) and then when he shoves with tens, I fold...know im big blind and small blind for 2400. Every stack on my table is calling my all in at that points. obv odds.
Thank you for ur comments and I obv respect ur game. -
Dudebud...your incredibly stupid.
