Opening a P.O. Box in Canada?

    Don't know the legality of this but, http://www.canadapost.ca/offerings/s...n/postal-e.asp, might offer some more answers. I'm not even sure if Poker sites allow persons with P.O. Boxes to have an account. But it's worth the try if poker sites are banning all american players.

    In canada most of rural areas us PO boxes...too spread out and cold to expect someone to deliver the mail to your door after all.

    My guess is that the Canada post office would only offer P.O. boxes to Canadian residents. However, I don't know their laws, so I could be wrong about that. Still, seems like a shady way to go about things. I think a better solution is to continue to work to try to change the law--you can still call your congressmen, and still write editorials explaining the flaws of the new bill, and why it should be repealed. (That might require a bit more work and thought, though :))

    I thought the whole point of a PO box was the security for it being anonymous however I'm not sure how it works in Canada or the US but I thought u just pay the monthly fee/yearly fee and you have a box to call your own.

    There are also options other than Canada Post. For example, The UPSStore (www.upsstore.ca).
    They actually have mailboxes that aren't "PO boxes". Quote taken from their website: "At almost every location of The UPS Store, you can get a mailbox with a real street address".

    I would be happy to help anyone wanting to go this route and Fedex your mail to you, but how does this get around the fact you will still be gambling over the internet in the USA?

    opening a po box requires identification and proof of either being canadian or operateing a bussiness.one solution would be to work off a canadians account.two benefits,first you can still play all the sites and second no taxes baby.

    I used that method for something else here in the usa and it works great. its a real address on a real street and thats all they care about. just dont go to the post office for this service. Then you can have the mail forwarded monthly to your usa address by the same people who rent the box to you. its very smooth.

    Its not like you're smuggling anything illegal, you're just getting mail. Mail is legal.
