  1. This occurred at live 1/2 NL home game. I got to the game at 3:00 am. Everyone was deep with the average stack about $500. I bought in for $300.

Seat 4: Me. Tight/aggressive played 6 hands in 3 hours, had respect of table.
Seat 3: Tight/Aggressive, played 5 hands in 3 hours, yet methodical, smart, well respected. About 5:30 re-re-raised to $200 preflop with 5,2 off and got shoved on by 6,7d. First hand he had shown all night.
Seat 6: Weak/passive. Drunk rich guy playing for entertainment, down $2,500, complete fish.

    Seat 4: raises to $90
    Seat 6: calls $90
    Seat 8: folds
Seat 3: quickly reraises all in $585

Seat 3 knew that Seat 6 was going to fold and knew I was tight player.

A: He just made a play at the $270 in the pot.
    B: Semi-bluffed the open ended draw with a 9.
    C: Flopped two pair.
    D: Flopped a straight.

What do you think seat 3 did?

He was definitely capable of A and B, yet I find it hard to believe that he would risk his whole stack that late. C and D are definitely possibilities in relation "giving me some action" preflop. Regardless of what he had, it was a great opportunistic play that was successful.

I know I should have raised more preflop as a self critique, regardless I keep losing sleep over whether it was right to fold there?

Thanks for reading and any feedback that you have.
  2. Well you were looking for some action that's why you didnt raise so much pre, and you got bit by it. Sounds like you from that point and made nice reads on your opponents and got bit by the raise too soft pre bug IMO as you described.
    Videobox.com might help some :).
  3. I would say thats a scary board and he flopped the straight or hit a set!!
  4. Probably flopped top 2.
