  1. <SPAN class=postbody>pokerstars $10 180person sng

MissBlind has been playing solid poker and I respected the early position raise by just calling with pocket 10s, in positon. Its a raggedy flop and MissBlind leads out with what could be just a c-bet with AK or something similar.

Do I raise here and let it go If I get re-raised and give credit to MissBlind for having bigger overpair?

Or do i flat call and see if MissBlind slows down on the turn if another undercard comes, then take I can take a stab at the pot?

  2. pretty much any reraise commits you to blind's push, so if you want to reraise you have to shove, but if you want to call and hopefully win it on the turn that's not a bad play either
  3. TYVM for the reply.

  4. i like to just call on that flop there, if the turn comes off another blank and ur opponent bets again youre probably crushed, especially if you said she was playing solid poker. If your opponent slows down shes probably missed her big ace and youre ahead so u have more information there

  5. i like what babybu had to say. although i think it points out a flaw in my game because i see a somewhat draw heavy board--the 2 flush and str8 draws(although this board most likely missed the solid player--except the flush draw, but u cant worry about that too much-- because shes prolly raising big pairs or big cards). i have an over pair to a possible cont bet with big cards, so im inclined to raise here because once u reach the 400bb 10k can become short very fast . and this looks like a good spot to chip up. however, crippling myself to a solid player who could easily have JJ+ is somewhat donkish. plus the pf raise is suspicious because its 1000 not 1100 or 1200, and solid/tight players generally go for the bigger amount. so alarms start to go off about a monster. i like the idea to call and reevaluate on the turn because if shes solid and not maniacal she will most likely slow down, yet she did put a little less than 30% of her stack in already and ur showing weakness by calling. interesting hand, and i think babybu's line is correct because leaving the tournament with this hand would be sad when u could find a non solid player to bump heads with and wait for them to make a mistake.

  6. This is the flop you should be hoping for in position I would think. I think its just too good of a flop to fold, and I would probably call and reevaluate on the turn.
  7. Can I ask why nobody has considered the raise? The solid player has made a standard c-bet on a rag board. We cannot say at this stage whether she has a bigger pair than us as she could easily be playing a hand such as A-K or A-Q in an early position. I believe a raise, espcially since we have a bigger stack than 'MissBlind' is the best move. This will define her hand more. I would rasie an amount that we give her bad odds for her flush draw (straight draw out of the question).

Calling gives you less idea of what your opponent's hand is.
