Ok,
I ran into this situation on a .5/$1 NL 6 top table (PS). I'm under the gun and have KJo I raise to $3 and get re-raised to $6, the rest of the table folds....I call. Flop comes out 6TJ (2 diamonds). I check and he bets $20. After long consideration...I fold.
Questions being:
1. Why would he bet so much?
2. Is this a common move that I am unaware of?
3. What range of hands should I be putting him on?
4. Would you do ?
I discussed this with my poker peers and we decided that it was a good move at the time, as I did not have a ton of information on the guy ( I knew he did like to pre-flop raise fairly often, say 20-30% of the time). However in the long run I feel that in most situations I would have been calliing there, or raising, depending on my opponent.
Now if I can just get away from KK and QQ in the Sunday Millions!!!
