I'll be heading down there on Wednesday night or Thursday night and will be there through the whole event. What other p5ers are going? is there anything planned? etc.
I'll be down there with 5-6 people I've me through another forum, but I'd love to meet some fellow p5ers. -
Staying at the Beau Rivage?
-
I think I'm going to go just to rail and see some live poker being played. Too poor to actually play.
-
I'll def be there by Friday and leaving labor day however I may come down Thursday night.

My wife and I are going - all weekend babysitter YEAHHHHHHH!
We're both entering the mega satellite on Saturday.... If both of us lose, we have to go panhandle outside of the Rivage. If you see us, please give us a dollar, thanks...

I would but its located too remote and I don't think the turnout will be more than 300 MAX(prolly more like 180)

I will get there Tuesday and play the 200.00 2nd chance tourneys. They should probably have about a 40-50000 prize pool
-
anyone have any idea how many people are expected to play the main event?
-

I stopped by the registration desk. They are expecting somewhere between 380 and 480, but obviously don't know for sure. Hope that helps. I posted a picture of the tournament room, and it's completely full for todays prelim + satellites. If my computer/internet will cooperate i'll post in in this thread, but it's up on my blog (stevenlawrence.blogspot.com) and try this link, but not sure if/how long it will work: http://bp1.blogger.com/_ZsT7_8i4sHM/...h/IMG_3360.jpg

choron's comment is the equivalent of me saying i wont go to ontario, canada because they put milk in a bag
-
depends on how fast you go I guess, but no, not exactly around the corner.
-
I was wondering how long it'd take for someone to be offended by that. :) There's tons of people down here who like to play some cards.
-
I'm still in Mobile (had classes today). I want to go down there and meet some of you guys sometime before the event's over, but what is the best time? Show up all this weekend/next week for the prelim events, or show up during the ME?
Obv I've never been to a live tourney before, so I'd be just as disoriented and confused as if I were playing. -

It actually was very well structured .758 entrys first payed like 83k. Busted out on the ninth level blinds at 400-800. Was chip leading the tourney for two hours at about 120k or so.
I ran into three crutial hands that busted me in only one hour. Average stack was around 25-30k.
First hand three way all in My KK vs AK vs JJ. Needless to say i lost when a J hit the flop. (around 80-90 left after that hand.
Second hand my AKhh vs AQ (rivered q) lost 14k after she raised to 4k on the button with 4-8 blinds. I pyut her all in for remaining 10k ( thouhgt she was play )lost 15k
Last Hand on the Button . I ahd been rasing just about every hand (bubble play 72 pay with 76 left) Button raises to 5k at with blinds at 600-1200 i sat there for like five minutes on the BB looking at two black AA's, repoped him to 17K and he insta shoved with 74. Called eight high straight and im drinking cheap beer now at home.
Over all rating (excellent, lots of seniors insta calling all in with A7 A10 type hands just like in cash games.
Will be back tommorow. See ya there! -
oops came back from dinner at 400-800.

Just finished a 26 hour cash session at Beaux with two dudes at the same table the whole time (starting at my second table anyway after the tournament room table broke) who started before me and were still there when I left. One of them started late Tuesday night and was passing out for 30-45 seconds at a time in his chair in between hands. The guys were NOT good. There were 5 of us at the same table for almost the entire time. I would say I'm getting old, but one of the guys was in his 70s so I must just be a wimp. I left for the night when I almost folded a rivered straight because I misread the board. Played for a little while with thisismyback last night. Really nice guy and he played much better than I was at the beginning.
